New Home Blessing Ritual

A Member of BowlandCentral.com started a thread in my Pagans/Divinatory Arts Forum with this:
"Moving into my first bought place over the weekend and i was just wondering if they are any things i should do to cleanse the place? get more of an atmosphere to the place?

Suggestions would be fab!"

I responded by composing the following Home Blessing Ritual:

After Moving in, Invite your Paganistic Friends over for Dinner.

When they are all Gathered, put your Altar at the Eastern Most Wall of the House.

The East is where the Sun comes up in the Morning and the Early Morning Sunrise have the Mystical Power of imparting Wisdom and Strength to all.

Then do something like this:

Select your Favorite Color and your Favorite Type of Incense.

Then you get put a Candle of your Favorite Color in each of the Quarters of your Altar, with a White Candle in Center. Put you Incense in a Burner to the Northerly Side of the Altar, and Livation Dish full of Holy Water to the Southerly Side of the Altar.

Decorate the rest of your Altar however which way you like. Whatever makes your Altar look best for you is fine.

When you Guests arrive, Open the Quarters.

Announce that you are wishing to Bless and Consecrate your New House and that you need someone to represent East, South, West and North. Once the Volunteers come forward and their roles selected, start the Space Blessing Ritual.

This is a Space Blessing Ritual and not a Space Cleansing Ritual as I hope that the House's Previous Occupants had not left behind any Negative Emotional Energies (I hope the place did not get sold as part of a Divorse Settlement or something like that).

So you start Opening the Quarters.

You Start by lighting a White Candle, and while handing the Candle to your Guest who is Representing East, say something like: "Greetings Representative of the East, the Watchtower of the Sacred Element of Air. You are Welcome to this Energy Working in Blessing and Consecrating this New House. So Mote It Be!" Then indicate to your Guest the Eastern Candle and have them light it. Then have the Guest say something Nice about you and your House and then say "So Mote It Be!" again. Take back the White Candle.

Then you go to the Guest who Represents the South, hand them the White Candle and say: "Greetings Representative of the South, the Watchtower of the Sacred Element of Fire. You are Welcome to this Energy Working in Blessing and Consecrating this New House. So Mote It Be!" Then indicate to your Guest the Southern Candle and have them light it. Then have the Guest say something Nice about you and your House and then say "So Mote It Be" again. Take back the White Candle.

Then go to the Guest who Represents the West, hand them the White Candle and say: "Greetings Representative of the West, the Watchtower of the Sacre Element of Water. You are Welcome to this Energy Working in Blessing and Consecrating this New House. So Mote It Be!" Then have the Guest say something Nice about you and your House and then say "So Mote It Be" again. Take Back the White Candle.

Then go to the Guest who Represents the North, hand them the White Candle and say: "Greetings Representative of the North, the Watchtower of the Sacred Element of Earth. You are Welcome to this Energy Working in Blessing and Consecrating this New House. So Mote It Be!" then have the Guest say something Nice about you and your House and then say "So Mote It Be" again. Take back the White Candle.

Then either you or your Mate put the White Candle into its Central Holder on your Altar and then take up your Livation Dish of Holy Water. Starting with the Eastern Quarter, going in a Counter Clockwise Direction, sprinkle a bit of Holy Water on each of your Guests while reciting something like: "You are Purified and Cleansed for this Space Blessing, and may you never Thirst" over and over again as you go around the Circle.

And then you or your Mate (whoever it was who did not sprinkle the Water) llight your Favorite Stick of Incense. Wave the Incense Smoke over each of your Quests starting from the Eastern Quarter and going Counter Clockwise while reciting something like: "Blessed Be, You are Welcome to our House Blessing and Consecration, and may you never Hunger" over and over again as you go around the Circle.

Once the Incense has been Waved over your Guest, put the Incense Stick into its Incense Holder on your Altar and then make an announcement that your Sacred Circle is now Open and for everyone to Socialize, and in keeping with your Incantation about them Never Hungering, to help themselves to your Buffet or Bar BQ and Crisps, with Drinks in order to keep them from Thirsting.

Go on to enjoy several Hours of Revelry with your Guest until the Tealight Candles all Burn Out.

When it starts getting Late, and your Guest start going home. Bless them with a Small Gift as they leave.

Now once all you Guests are gone, then you and your Mate go to your Altar. You then Sprinkle some Holy Water on each other while saying something like: "May this Blessing on our House become a Vortex of Happiness for us to Enjoy, without any Harm to Anyone. So Mote It Be!".

Then Light your favorite Incense Stick and take turns waving the Smoke over each other while saying something like: "May this Blessing on our House become a Vortex of Happiness for us to Enjoy with any Harm to Anyone. So Mote It Be".

Then Extinquish the Central White Candle and then go off to the Bedroom and be Intimate with each other for the rest of the Night.


In my opinion, once the Quarters of this Ritual is Invoked, the Quarters should not be Closed, but the Invoked Quarters kept up and active in order to ensure that you and your Mate Live in Happiness and Contentness.

But when you eventually Sell the House and go to Move Out, then have another Party to Celebrate your Parting where you do the Ritual again, only in Reverse Closing the Quarters, Purifying and Cleansing the House for the Next Occupants, wishing them Happiness and Contentness.

I also do Space Clenasing Rituals on Apartments in the Building I Manage. I do them on Apartments in which the Previous Tenant had done nothing but create Bad Karma during their Tenancy.

Last Night, I did the Final Ritual of a Space Cleansing that I have been working on since about July 21st.

The Previous Tenant was a Crackhead who could not maintain any sort of standard of Hygien. A couple of Pictures are attached.

The Tenant before that was a "Rachel Marsden" Wannabe Feminist who made my Life Miserable to about a Month with her constantly Falsely Accusing me of Sexual Harassment. After she moved out, I did a Pizza Night Social in that Suite with some Tenants invited and had my Portable Altar there to do some Space Cleansing.

I guess that did not take very well since the Next Tenant after turned out to be a Total Crackhead!

Before bringing in my Portable Altar, I had to do about 11 hours of Cleaning to get rid of most of the Garbage. I also had to spray the Suite Out with Raid as it was Infested with Fruitflies!

When the Cleanup and Restorations got down to doing the Painting and Final Cleanup, I brought in my Portable Altar and started the Space Cleansing Ritual.

On Day 1 of the Ritual, I commenced Painting the Apartment. When Painting, you first have to Paint around the edges of the Wall. This is called: "The Cutting".

So the day before, I had brought in my Painting Equipment, and my Portable Altar. So I just got started by first Lighting the Altar.

First, I placed into the Candle Stand, Four Blueberry Scented Tealight Candles and I had Sandalwood Incense.

I then took out a New White Candle and lit it, I then used it to lit the Four Quarterly Candles.

As I was Lighting the Easterly Candle, I Recited to myself something like: "Greetings and Welcome to you Great Watchtower of East, Guardian of Sacred Element of Air. I require you Aid in this Invocation of Peace, Harmony, and Balance in this Space Cleansing Ritual. Please bring your Power to me, So Mote It Be!"

I then Lite the Easterly Blueberry Tealight Candle.

I before Lighting the Southerly Candle, I Recited: "Greetings and Welcome to you Great Watchtower of South, Guardian of Sacred Element of Fire. I require you Aid in this Invocation of Peace, Harmony, and Balance in this Space Cleansing Ritual. Please bring your Power to me, So Mote It Be!"

I then Lite the Southerly Blueberry Tealight Candle.

I before Lighting the Westerly Candle, I Recited: "Greetings and Welcome to you Great Watchtower of West, Guardian of Sacred Element of Water. I require you Aid in this Invocation of Peace, Harmony, and Balance in this Space Cleansing Ritual. Please bring your Power to me, So Mote It Be!"

I then Lite the Westerly Blueberry Tealight Candle.

I before Lighting the Northerly Candle, I Recited: "Greetings and Welcome to you Great Watchtower of North, Guardian of Sacred Element of Earth. I require you Aid in this Invocation of Peace, Harmony, and Balance in this Space Cleansing Ritual. Please bring your Power to me, So Mote It Be!"

I then Lite the Northerly Blueberry Tealight Candle.

In the Center of the Square Candle Holder, I keep a Central White Candle. I Lite that Candle while Reciting: "This Circle of Cleansing and Restoration is Invoked, So Mote It Be!"

After having Invoked the Quarters, I placed the White Candle in the Center of the Four Tealight Candles and then I toook out a stick of Sandalwood Incense, and lit it off of the Central White Candle.

I then Chanted something like: "My this Sandalwood Incense bring Good Blessings and Healing to this Ritual, and may there be Protection for the Next Tenant who Lives here."

I then poured some Paint and started the Cutting. For the Next Three Hours or so, I Painted Cutting around the Apartment in a Tuathail Counter Clockwise Direction in order to Banish and Exorcise away the Bad Karma from the Apartment.

I also did some Minor Repairs to the Suite.

When the Candles Burnt down about 3 hours later, I then stopped Working and rested for the Next Day.

On Day 2 of the Ritual, I once again Invoked the Quarters with Blueberry Tealight Candles, which I seem to like using as it Protects against Treachery and Deception. I also continued using the Sandalwood Incense.

First I lit the Altar with a similar procedure as I did the day before, and then commenced Working.

I had a Few Touchups of the Cutting to Finish, and I did that in a Counter Clockwise Direction in order to get rid of the last of the Bad Karma, and then I started Painting in the rest of the Walls. This is did in a Deosil Clockwise Direction in order to bring about and create Good Blessings and Consecrations to the Apartment.

Once again, after getting the Suite Painted, I had still enough time to get several more Repairs done in the Suite and got the Stove, Fridge, and Kitchen Nicely Cleaned Out before the Candles Burnt Down.

On Day 3 of the Ritual, I once again Invoked the Quarters with a similar Ritual as I had done the First Day of the Space Cleansing, and then set to work Shampooing the Carpets.

Before commencing the Shampooing, I took the Light and Shadow Deck that I keep in my Portable Altar and did a One Card Draw on how Life will be like for that Tenant. I shuffled the Deck 3 Times, cut the cards and pulled up the Sun Major Arcana Card. I think this Indicates that the Next Tenant who lives there will have a Well Rounded Complete Life while living there. I put the Card down on the Altar.

The Clackhead Tenant had gotten a Dog about a month before, and she let it run around Shitting all over the Place, so I had to Clean the Carpet with Deoderizer as well as Soapy Solution. I Cleaned the Carpet with Detergent, Bleach, as well as Deodorizer. I cleaned on that Carpet for a got 2 to 3 hours.

This time, when I was finished, the Candles were still going, so I put them out in proper Sequence.

First, I used an Athame to put out the Northerly Candle while Thanking the Watchtower of the North for it help with my Ritual thus far and wishing for Peace and Harmony for the Next Tenant who lives there. I then put out the Westerly Candle, the Southerly Candle, the Eaterly Candle and the Center White Candle with my Athame, making in Incantation for Peace and Harmony for the Next Tenant.

Then came the 4th Day of the Ritual.

For the Final Part of the Ritual, I made it a New Moon Esbat Celebration with my Vancouver Witches Meetup Group. I made the Event for August 22nd, and made my special Wild Sesame Chilli Con Carne to start at 7:00pm.

Ashleigh and Belladonna of the Witches Meetup Groups showed up, so they helped with the Space Cleansing Ritual.

We went to the Apartment that I had just finished Restoring, and Ashleight Lit the Candles. She lit the Central White Candle, then the South Candle, the Easterly Candle, the Westerly Candle and then the Northerly Candle. She then placed the White Candle back at the Center of the Four Tealight Candles.

When I invited Belladonna to light the Incense, I discovered that I was out of Sandalwood Incense, so I ran back to my Apartment and got out an Incense Stick of Passion Flower, which Promotes Emotional Balance and Peace. It attracts Friendships and Prosperity. These are things the Next Tenant could use.

So I got the Stick of Incense and Belladonna lit it. I then showed around the Before Pictures of the Suite, and they were both Horrified how badly this Previous Tenant had ruined the Apartment, and they congratulated me on how well I had Restored the Apartment.

It was then that I showed them the World Major Arcana Card and then Prophesized that this Card indicates that the Next Tenant will have a Good Complete Well Rounded Life in the Suite.

Belladonna then had the Idea of Sprinkling some Sea Salt in all the Corners of the Suite in order to Ward Off Bad Karma from coming back. Once she finished that, we went back to my place, and we spent a couple of hours yaking and chatting.

When it came time to go. We went back to the my Portable Altar, and Belladonna and Ashleigh put out the Candles and Closed the Ritual. We then said our Merry Parts and they left in Peace.

Ritual is now Concluded and Hopefully the Next Tenant will live there Happily and Healthy.
