I have a friend who has been bothered/controlled by "something" ever since she was pregnant with her second chid. She relates experiences where demons were ridiculing or teasing her. For example, she recalls her mother taking her to a psychologist becauae of her belief that she was possessed. While there, the counselor spoke briefly with her mother, then turned to address my friend. Then the woman's face became that of a mocking demon. The demon spoke to her about how stupid she was while her mother saw and heard only a the psychologist. She also reoprts recurring symbology such as the number 8 in street graffity, menus, signs, everywhere. She drinks heavily and has great difficulty maintaining positive relationships. She says that she even went to church once and asked the priest his advice about her poession, he also became a demon and laughed at her as she fled in terror. She complains of doing thins twice in rapid succession, the second being without her intention or her ability to reverse.
To make a long story short, she asked my assisstance inevictibg her unwnted guest.
Here's my problem...I was initiated to The Way 25 years ago and have practiced sucessfully ,many protection spells, wards, healing both physical and spiritual. I have not, however, been involved in an exorcism since assissting my teacher in the banishing of a minor interloper in 1980. While my instincts tell me that this is well within my capeabilities, I'm somewhat at a loss for a game plan. Anybody out there that can offer me sound advice based on experience? Thanks from both of us.
Blessed Be

The best advice I can give based on my experiances, is instinct! Follow your own. Have trust that you and your guides will provide all you need to know.
I have never done anything the same way twice. Every situation is unique and the solutions and ways equally unique. There isnt room for error or 'trying' something in hopes it will work. You have to know, feel, that what you think and do is what you should.
You already have all you need. Just let that knowledge come through to your mind.

The best advice that I can give you is sounds like this person is in need of serious psychiatric intervention and substance abuse treatment...

Much agreed on the psych eval and drug intervention. I'd highly doubt an excorcism is what's needed here.
Buuut that's me. Best wishes.

Your friend probably really does need some kind of psychiatric help. Pregnancy brings on all sorts of strange things. Chemical imbalance and possible psychosis is always a posibility. Not saying that this is the case, but that it is best to rule out all mundane matters before resorting to spiritual.
Aside from that, Shanti had the perfect advice. It is not always possible to gather all of the tools, and open the books to the correct chants, and do everything by the book. Trusting your own instinct and believing in yourself is the best way to work these matters.

The Catholic Church has a list of qualities an exorcism candidate must have in order to recieve exorcism. This is not to say that the Catholic way is the 'only' way, but, the priests do take extra precaution to make sure that the individuals involved are not suffering from psychological illnesses or are just faking it. From what I have read, it sounds like she is suffering from schizophrenia and paranoia.
Things that can take her out of this category (though I strongly recommend she gets evaluated by a psychologist first) would probably be knowing information that would otherwise be unknowable to her. Obviously what 'possesses' her might not be a demon of any sort, so, until you get a name or a description, you're basically lost on how to test her on this. If she believes it's a demon of the Christian variety, you might want to test her on the Goetia (heirarchy, etc).
All in all, I think that it's highly unlikely that she is possessed. Most of the individuals who claim to be possessed actually suffer from psychological disorders. It is highly rare even for Catholic exorcists to actually encounter a suitable candidate for exorcism, because most of them need psychological assistance.
Let's put it this way: if an individual has cancer and seeks you for help because she's afraid of doctors....what are you going to do? Are you going to cast your magic and hopes that the cancer goes away? Or are you going to refer her to a doctor?

Having has some experience in these matters...my best advice is to rule out the mundane first.
Sounds and feels to me that your friend needs medical attention.
