I use a 3 card spread. Shuffle anyway you like. I usually shuffle 3 times, cut the deck 3 times, then deal the cards out in a row (left to right).
Each card stands for-
First card= Personality and sex.
Second card= Situation, like what kinda job you had, relationships, etc.
Third card= What lead to your death.
This can be simple and difficult at the same time. Let's say in the first spot you draw a four. Now number cards don't point out sex, however I know that fours are associated to the Emperor in the Major Arcana which is male, and so there I have the sex. Then I can look closer at the card drawn to see other aspects of his personality.
So like I said, it can be really simple if you know what you're doing, but difficult when just starting out to make the right associations. Of course it's very simple if you draw one of the court cards or Major cards. :)
I hope that wasn't too confusing.

Do a search for "past life spread" and see what comes up. Also check the tarot spreads section on www.tarotforum.net (http://www.tarotforum.net) I'm sure there are many over there in the Index.

There are a couple of ways of tapping into your past lifes that I have experimented with. One is with the tarot and this eleven card spread..
1. Past Life Personality
2. Past Life Overview
3. Past Life Surroundings
4. Past Life Relationships
5. Death of the past life ( entering the non-physical )
6. Life inbetween lives
7. Intention for current life ( devised during the non-physical prior to incarnating into your present life ).
8. Present life purpose.
9. Obstacles in present life
10. Talents or gifts in present life
11. Present life outcome
Another way is to come in contact with what Edgar Cayce called the Akashic Records via meditation or guided visualization. You can find out more about this concept here..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akashic_Records

I posted a link awhile ago for a past link reading spread, and I know others have posted the same link since if you do a search in this forum I am sure you can find it. It is a bit different then the ones mentioned already.

This probably sounds really dumb but since i am just learning how does the spread look, i mean is it rows or a circle or a celtic cross type? The link for the meditation is cool thanks!
