Astraea

i received the name Astraea in a meditation the other day, so i'm trying to find out as much about her as possible. I was also wondering if anyone had any information about Astraea beyond the usual "became the constellation Virgo" or any personal experiences they would be willing to share.
(i did a search and nothing came up for astraea, so i hope i didnt overlook something)

she was the daughter of Zeus and Themis
she was a starmaiden that lived on earth and blessed mortals after it ended she was placed among the stars in the constellation of Virgo

Did you mean at MW? Cause the search is "broken" till Mol fixes it, might be why nothing turned up ;)

I did a Yahoo search and didn't find too much info (which is usually the opposite, people say they didn't but then I find pages and pages and pages of sites, heh)

From the lack of info is seems as though she wasn't a main goddess or probably even honored. She is conected to Justice though her mother and is also paired with Dike and Nemesis. That site listed her as a Justice goddess too.

It might not even be her, as in the name you recieved might relate to something else or is meant to lead to somewhere...if that makes sense.
It could be a message to keep on the right path, to not sway (like the scales), to look to the stars, get into astromony, to look at the Greek pantheon, to look into "Justice Goddesses", perhaps its a name for you to take on...I don't know. I learned the worse thing to do is jump to conclusions.

I think the best thing to do is pay attention to signs around you, see if things are leading you somewhere, ask for deity(ies) to guide you and look within...The best information will come from you, not some entry on a website ;)

thank you so much. i was just trying to get as much info as i could. i like to learn everything i can about things, so i thought i would start with the basic info on her as a goddess and branch out from that, wherever it may lead. i have also been delving into the greek pantheon more lately.
( and i definitely think it could be a "don't stray" message. i have a tendency to get sidetracked quite a bit. :) )

edit: i didnt know the search was broken. that is probably why i found nothing about her here (yet. i will do another search when its fixed).
and i will be looking up the alternate spelling.
