Hello everyone!
I am thinking of re-decorating my room!A whole wall is covered by closets that have a pretty boring colour that tires me.So i decided to paint on the closets .And since i know how creative you all are i wanted to hear your suggestions about symbols and other things i could paint on them.i've already thought of the symbol of the triple Goddess, butterflies and triquetras.
Thanks in advance!

Well, there's the general goddess symbol, an ankh, a celtic cross, pentacle, yin yang....I'll keep thinking.

It's an oldie but a goodie: moon phases. I'm partial to Celtic design. If a particulair tradition inspires you like Egyptian or Mesopotamian or even Paleolithic you can use whatever inspires you. :)
Here's Goddess Creative Designs (http://www.goddessdesigns.com/). They sell stencils and stamps with Pagan designs.

You could also have the sun, moon and stars theme with different symbols for each.....the general celestial thing.....
Do you like Celtic symbolism?? Something like the Celtic Knot or you could have a Celtic type border around each door or the whole wall. SO many possibilities!!! Decisions, Decisions!!
Good luck and maybe you might post a pic when you're done?

What is your path, symbols deeply related to that would work. Ones that mean love or tranquility since it's a bedroom.
Like for me I could go with a Pennsylvania Hex sign for love.

I love the huge tree with the spreading branches that go from winter on one side through spring buds and flowers to green summer leaves and end with fall colors and falling leaves on the other side. I would paint that on the side of my house that faces the street or the front yard if those walls didn't have windows in them. The only wall I could paint it on would face the neighbor's house and I'd never get to see it.

On the tree theme, this is probably way off what you want but I used to have a tree design on my wall, and in some of the leaves I put photos of family and friends etc., maybe you could use a collage type idea too, especially for celtic knots and things as we did these in our kitchen and they are a swine to paint freehand :hahugh:

I have a lot of Egyptian stuff in our bedroom and one of these days I'm going to paint the closet door like King Tut's sarcophagus...not only will it look cool, but it's a inside joke because Tutt is our last name, har!

I was watching TradingSpaces, and my fav designer Laurie, used an overhead projector to, well, project a line drawing of a tree, that was out side the window, on a large, high accent wall in a livingroom. So it was like a reflection of the outside world. It was really bold yet simple, just the tree and branches painted deep coral on a white wall.

When i repaint my bedroom, the doors of my closet will be getting the four cardinal point treatment, a fire door, a water door, an earth door, and an air door. nothing amazing, just gentle colors, and subtle symbols. In case anyone wanders in...

Oooh, I like that idea. I didn't realize you had 4 doors on your closet. Mine has two large sliding doors. Yours must fold?

No, actually, I have really old closets, and they all have four, sliding doors, they are like a double closet.

Just a tip, but mirrored doors can be covered with those stick on window covers you see at Home Depot and Lowes etc. They have all different type of designs and colors. I covered mine at my rental apartment with them and they peeled right off without any trouble. You use dish soap and water to attach them. I had sky in mine. I covered them as they were overwhelmining the room and it wasn't good energy for the area.
Another one is to by sheets of celephane from a gift wrapping place and use them to cover it. I did mine with tape and had a sort of modiglioni effect on windows. I use electricians tape for the black line. It was harder to come off but worked well.
