So I don't consider myself Wiccan for a few reasons. But I'm also an anthropology major, and I'm noticing how a lot of cultures develop similar symbols in a similar progression. I worship Dionysus, or did. Then I'm looking at Damuzi... then I look at Ares, since I'm away doing Army training now, and it brings up the warlike aspects of Dionysus in turn. Now I'm a lot more comfortable (obviously) with the concept of multiple gods. But my shamanistic roots also make me think that gods are just the souls of big concepts. But the more I work with a variety of them, the more I'm seeing them as, more than that, a face on the concept of masculinity as a whole. This is an awesome feeling and breakthrough, but it also kinda makes me nervous. After all, it's a departure from what I'm comfortable with, always kinda a shock.

So yeah. I doubt I'll be able to check this thread again any time soon, so I'm just kinda rambling. But if anybody else has anything to say, feel free to converse. Just reeling, myself, from the impact. :)

I think it's as good as any other theory attempting to define gods. I like it.

Well, its of no real surprise there are similar archetypes through many cultures...especially given the theory of the Indo Aryan invasions and migrations. Theres a LOT of cultures that can be considered under the banner of the Indo Aryan descendants. Im glad to hear you're getting in touch with the feelings, an interesting theory :).
