What did you hope for with your first pregnancy?

While pregnant with your first child, what were you hoping for- boy or girl, either- and what did you get?

Growing up I heard from my Grandfather that that his first born grandson would get his pocket watch. It didnt happen so it moved to the great grandkids. So I really really wanted to give my grandpa his grandson. But two things conspired against me. 1) my family has had 1 boy nad he is a second cousin all the rest of us are girls and 2) Victorias father had 3 boys 2 girls so well a girl would even it up. So although I was hoping for a boy I knew I would have a girl from the time I found out I was pregnant I new she would be a girl.

Now that I have her I couldnt imagine her ever being a boy.

I've always dreamed of a little girl since I can remember,but I don't think it's in my cards....thats ok though,because I love my two boys.

Our DD came to DH1 in a meditation just after Imbolc one year. Told him her name and that she was on her way. We never doubted it. When the tech asked us if we wanted to know the baby's gender, we said that we already knew but it was still fun too see her in utero. :boing:

If anyone had ever asked me tho, I would have said that what I really wanted was to have a healthy baby.

I wanted a boy and got a boy. From the first when I found out I was pregnant I knew I was having a boy and sure nuff.....out he came!! Now..it's even up, I had boy, girl, boy, girl. :D

At one time in my life I wanted boys, I never wanted a daughter. I ended up with two girls. Now I realize, sports to nailpolish, with girls you get the best of both worlds. :lol:
If I ever had another child (which I wont) I would want another girl. :smile:

Oddly, with my first, I simply knew she was a girl. No wishing, no super natural intuition, I just knew. :) I also knew she would be a couple weeks early and be born in the middle of the night...just like her mom. :)

I wanted a girl... we had a boy. :) I'm glad we did though, and now we'll have one of each!

I'm not sure. I think ideally I wanted a girl. My sister took one look at me when I began to show and straight away said I was having a boy, my mother agreed.

I wouldn't change Xander for the world. I do hope to have a little girl some day though.
