What does yours look like?

I'm debating on copying the information from my spiral notebook spellbook into a more pagan binder so i can just add more paper when need be. Hmm..what has worked for you?

blessings,

Mine is more a Book of Notes really, since I am still learning.
But I started out with a hardbound book and found it very difficult because once done with a section I couldn't add more to it later.
I am thinking of going with a binder and then once I get enough material to fill a hardbound, I'll copy it all into there and then start a new binder with new info, etc.
But that's just me---I'd recommend the binder :)

I have an electronic Folder of Notes and Stuff. XD There's not a whole lot in it, just two OpenOffice files that I'm slowly adding things to - I'm in no rush, and I plan to add things as I need them, so at the moment, the most important things for me are the Sabbat information that I'm compiling. Also, computer documents make for easier revision and addition.

I would also suggest the binder, it's easier to add things and remove things as you need them. :)

I bouth a plain black blank book, and it works really well. Sometimes I wish I was just using a binder though because then I could freely move things around when I need to.---shuvanilu

I have a plain, black binder, dividers, and a 3-hole punch.

Right now my BoS revolves around the Sabbats so there's 8 sections; one for each Sabbat.

I have a large black leather journal that I try to write everything in. i dont really care about it being organized at this point. Anyway, I am very slow with writing spells and the like in my bos, so, I also have a large folder that I stick things into until they can be tansfered.

I do, however use my bos only for spells and rituals. recipies, and any sort of info go into seperate journals. LOL. I have a lot of journals. I have a book of blessings tht i write in little things that make me happy--part of a luck spell, i have a path journal, i have a past life joural, and tarot journals. <sighs>

edited to say: Now that I think about it...using a binder sounds very appealing to me...Hmm...me likes this thought. :D

I have a grimorie (bos) for general information which is a black A4 binder so I can swap sections about and add to them, etc. I'm collecting various pictures and pressing herbs, leaves and flowers and plan to decorate the outside when I have it worked out to my liking.

I don't do much in the way of spells or rituals, but I have a small spiral notebook with all my little notes and formulas scribbled in there for when I do. If I ever increase this kind of activity, I'll probably get a small A5 binder for this.

I have a huge fat hardcover book for my journal to record all my thoughts, results of ritual, meditation, rune divination, etc.

I also keep 'nifty' information that I find interesting, but dont really use practically on my computer.

Binders suit me, as they are expandable and changeable - and I like being organised. Things flow better for me that way. I also like the idea that when i have one day accumulated a mass of information, I can get another binder and have different books... such as a "Herbal BOS", "Crystal/Minerals/Metal BOS" and a "Lore and Ethics BOS", etc. if I felt like it.

I also have a large black binder that I've covered in fae stickers, to keep it pretty. I wouldn't mind having a beautiful bound book, but as I'm still studying and learning (and will continue to do so my whole life, I'm sure) I don't want to spend all that time scribing my information in beautiful handwritten calligraphy if it is going to change in a few months or so anyway... Thus the binder! I figure once I'm ancient and old and passing on my book to my children or grandchildren, that's a good time to start scribing. Maybe that will change, but at this point, I honestly don't think there's a point in my life where I'll just stop learning.

I have my information in so many different places. I am so disorganized. lol Most of my things are in folders. I have a notebook that I was using for awhile, and a lot of things on my computer. I try to print it off regularly, but I have to admit I have a lot still in my e-mail folders alone.
I recently received a dragon covered bos for Mother's Day. I have been using it and my computer recently. With three kids, I tend to put things in one place and then never get around to adding it to my actual bos. They will have to search hard later when they want to know a specific thing out of my information through the years. lol
A sectioned binder or specific books/folders is a really good idea. It would make finding specific information easier and adding more would be easier.

I have one blank book, with Amy Brown cover art, for my Irish Recon history and spirituality notes (this includes Dieties, Faeries, etc).

And another similar blank book, with different Amy Brown cover art, for my Kitchen Witchery notes.

I am contemplating getting a third book for my Tarot notes.

I too have 3 places, nothing mystical involved in that, just that I found it easier that way...things like dates of sabbats and general info like that I put in a ringbinder that I have customised, results of divinations, dreams and spells I have written are in a small book, and then I keep other stuff which other people have given to me or I have stumbled across on line in some webspace I have, with the intention of moving it into one of the other 2 places at one time although it is rare in reality that I get around to this as often as I should!

At the end of the day whatever works for you is kind of my motto on these things!:hahugh:

Mine is a worn-out red Mead notebook; the kind with the perforated pages that you can tear out and they'll be all neat and like regular pieces of binder paper. So far I haven't really gotten anything special to be my BoS, but I really really want one of those Oberon journals with the pretty covers and handmade paper.

Right now I have a "Book of Light" which is a pretty embossed beige notebook, and a "Book of Shadows" which is the identical notebook but in dark brown. The former I use for notes relating to information I've gathered and my studies, the latter I use as a journal.

I am planning on buying a hard leather bound book for my grimoire at the end of this summer. I want to make it perfect and unique.

But i am preparing for that, so I bought myself a cheap notebook that i am jotting down all of my notes, and keeping a record of what is where with a table of contents. i'm going to transcribe it in the leather bound book in sections, leaving plenty of room to add things.

check out this website. they make custom grimoires.

i'm getting the 9x12 practical magic spell book, with an ankh embossed in the cover.

anyways, good luck!

I bought a big binder and decorated the outside of it with gel markers my daughter had. Inside is a treasure trove of information!! :) I used notebook dividers that you can insert the little labels into. I have all different kinds of things I'm interested in and other things I like to have on hand for informational purposes. Some of the labels are herbs, Celtic stuff, Shamanism, Tarot, Native American, etc. and of course there is a section or two for spells or chants I come across that I keep for reference and the spells or ceremonies that are my own creation.

I don't actually have a BoS right now...but I'm planning to make one :)
I'm hoping to get hold of some big, black binder and to cover the front with pictures of Celtic art and the ocean, shells, cetaceans, turtles, sharks etc etc.
Inside I'll jot down pretty much everything I come by regarding magick, Celtic history, lore, Deities, faeries, and a bunch of correspondences for herbs, crystals and whatnot.
It should be fun :hahugh:
