View Full Version : Meeting your children BEFORE they are born?

This subject kinda fits several forums here on MW, but I chose to put it here in the Parenting & Family forum.
Yesterday, within less than 12 hours, both semi and I had 2 interesting experiences.
We've told each other about both experiences (not knowing the other had experienced what they experienced, it just came up in the convo) -- We both met our future child.
He came to us through energy form -- To semi while he was awake, and to me while I was asleep, in a dream.
It was so amazing and unreal. I'm still speechless.
So as semi said, "He is here and he's just waiting for us to make him a meat suite" LOL
I was wondering, have any of you experienced this before you began trying to concieve, or as you were trying to concieve?

I experienced this with my oldest daughter. We weren't even thinking of conceiving at the time. My daughter was introduced to me by my father (who had passed away) in a dream. In my dream I was sitting on a park bench when my father approached holding the hand of a little girl. I asked him who his friend was and they looked at each other with knowing smiles. My father then told me that I would know her soon enough and they walked away. 3 weeks later I learned I was pregnant but I thought nothing else of the dream until my daughter was born. As soon as I saw her I knew she was the little girl from my dream and I also heard my father's voice, clear as day, saying "wasn't she worth the wait?".

We call it a human suit - LOL
My DH has met two in a dream...one just enrolled in tee ball. :D I had a dream about one. I suppose it wasn't really a meeting, however.

Morr, we need to make that meat suit as soon as possible, or at least thoroughly practice making it.

LOL you two!
I dreamt about Hannah before we concieved her,and she looked exactly like what I dreamt she would. With olivia the dream was alittle more difficult to figure out. It wasnt as clear for me,i woke up rembering some of it. I knew that I would have a special child, but I thought it was a boy. I also sensed something bad in the dream when i woke.. When I found out I was pregnant with olivia,I was EXTREMELY frightened, and just knew something wasnt right.. I've had other dreams come true, but for that dream to happen was devastating. i didnt even think much of it,tried to brush it off, until the 20 week scan.. I've had 1 dream so far during this pregnancy. I saw the baby and he/she's head forming/ the skull fusing together... Other than that I really havent had a child form visit me. Your dream and semi's experience sounds like it was amazing.. :) my husband and I had hannah before we got married. She came first, then our wedding.. but im sure you both want to be married first.. I bet you cant wait though! :)

I did dreamed about my first son 2 months before he was concieved. Every night it was the same dream, til a week before I found out I was pregnant. The dream was me in the hospital having him, then looking into his face and knowing he was mine. Then the dream would skip to when he was a little older and then once more when I'd say he was about 10 or so years old. The end of the dream is me sitting on a swing set type thing while watching him, and two other children play in the sand, and he looks at me with a huge grin. When he was born, it was like I was seeing it again. It was exactly like how I had seen it in my dream. The other parts haven't come yet, but He's only 3 years old.
My second son, I didn't have nightly dreams, but I would get like flashes during the day of babies. I had that for about a month before I got pregnant. I would be doing something, and it would be like, whatever I was thinking about would change to a baby thought. Like, I'd start to hear a soft cry, or that "baby" smell (no, not dirty diapers! Babies just have this really nice smell to them.. You might have to be a parent to know it.. LOL)
Sounds like your babe is just waiting on you two :D Like DS, our first was born before we were married, then our second after we were married. Hopefully your future child will wait til after Oct ;) Good Luck!!! :D

Thanks for sharing!
Unfortunately for our little boy there, he will have to be patient (which is unlikely with us as his parents LOL) because we have some things to get done before we concieve him (me moving to the US, us settling in Philly, and a 2 week trip to Ireland I'm DYING to go on). But I'm assuming he'll concieved within a year.
Its just good to know that he's waiting. We both are looking forward to him!
In my dream I didnt actually see him, but I FELT him -- I dreamed that I was pregnant, then as I was waking up (kinda between sleep and awareness) I heard a baby voice, and just felt his energy around me.
Honestly, I was going to post this very thread before I even knew semi had experienced his experience!

Kalika -- I just REALLY want to go to Ireland for at least 10 days, with semi. Just the two of us backpacking through the Republic of Ireland. I really want to see the historical and spiritual sites there. Its my number #1 most fave place on earth, I am dying to see it. I'd love to go there again in a few years with our kids, but its different with kids, ya know?
I really want to do that before I get pregnant.
Chesna -- Thanks! Yes it was an amazing experience! I've been on cloud 9 since :)

i dunno if my son appeared to me as an energy form, or just as a clone of myself. but i saw him way before he was born and knew he was a boy before anyone else did and i knew what he looked like before hand as well.

When I was pregnant with Aiden, I thought I'd be having a girl. In our family, the first born daughter always has a daughter first. And I'm the first-born daughter of the first-born daughter of the first-born daughter (yada yada back seven generations). I was supposed to have a girl... but during my pregnancy... I saw my little redheaded boy in a dream and woke up saying "I'm having a boy!" And I did, and he sure had red hair (which explains his name).
With Finn, same thing, only a little weirder. I had a dream and saw three children. Aiden, redheaded and silly as always, but he was about 10 or 11. Then my middle child, who was tall, built like his father's side of the family, with strawberry blonde hair (and that is how I knew Finn was a boy). That was to be Finn, and he was about 6. But the third... not even a glimmer in our eyes yet. This is to be my daughter, and she was about 2ish. It was spooky.
The spookiest part though, was as I was recounting the story of this dream to one of my Sisters, another pagan friend came in the shop and said "Oh good, Ravenna, you're here!! I had the craziest dream about you last night!" Wouldn't you know, she had the SAME DREAM. Spooky.
At least I know I'll eventually get my girl, lol.

Before I handfasted (because I hardly knew my husband at all,) we hiked through the Scottish Highlands as a way to really get each other's measure. It was amazing and EMPTY. After 2 weeks we knew each other to the core and handfasted on the cliffs of Tintagel.
Many times now when we do hard things, he looks at me and laughs "I remember the 2nd day we were hiking and your pack was rubbing your hip bones and you were bleeding through your jeans, I thought, 'there is a woman with grunt'... we can certainly manage this!"
That trip is our constant reference point for why we love and respect each other. Do it. Do it NOW... we always said we would do it again with kids, but frankly, there is NO way.
:yayah:
ps. you guys kick butt.

Right after my mother concieved my little sister she felt an unusual presence heard a voice that said, "hi daddy." She knew then that she was pregnant. She actually has stories for all three of us that are like that. You are certainly not alone in your experience Morr, and I'm sure you and Semi are going to have many little heartbreakers running around.

I have had similar experience just a few nights ago. I was in that twilight zone between sleep and wake, when I felt a very strong, yet vulnerable presence with me, as if she had already been born and was lying next to me in the bed. I got a very blurred image of her, but all I could see was a lot of dark hair. It will be fun to see if she actually comes out with hair- knowing irony I'll get a little baldy
