feeling misunderstood

I am feeling misunderstood and lonley , I have no one around that shares my interests. I just moved to a new townand it is prodominatly christians and I feel I have no intilectual stimulants surrounding me ....My mother is a christian and raised me in christian schools and doesnt understand the path I have chosen....even though she taught me how to read cards and I had a very irish pagan grandmother who read the moon to me....she still wont stop ridiculing me and calling me satan for studying as I do ....I just need some friends to talk to and help me through these difficult times.Ihave always been a solitary witch , because God forbid there be a coven in these parts ....anyway I still wear a smile :) and go about my merry way!

i know that feeling! LOL. I too live in a small, overwhelmingly prodominant Christian town. I don't have the parent issues to deal with, normally, as I live in another state from my parents. But...in general..i can so sympathize with you. Don't worry though..MW to the rescue. We're all here to listen to any rants/raves/frustration/thoughs you have to share with us!

Only 7 posts in this forum? You should get out more often! I've gotten to the point where I carefully grill everyone I meet: What do you think about witches? or Do you think witches are evil? or Do you believe in magic? I haven't found a satisfactory answer yet, so I'm still in the closet. One day I'll meet someone who says, well, actually I'm a witch...YAAY! But, until that day, I have MW, and here I can be FREE!

I live in a small, Christian town, too and I was fortunate enough to work in the city and meet pagans there. Quite by accident, I found another pagan in my area and we have been working on starting a group. We had a meeting 2 weeks ago and 20 people showed up.

Someone once told me, "If there's anything worth knowing, only certain people will know it." Be patient, and friends and soul mates will be drawn to you and show up in your life.

In the meantime, we're all here, any time.

I just thought of somthing that would be really cool while reading all of your posts. It would be sooo cool if all the pagans and witches moved to one area of the country, that way we would never be alone, and always be around people that can relate to us. :D

What a nice picture that paints! But then we'd have the pagans who'll get homesick for the beach, mountains, plains, deserts, swamplands - unless we could find a place that has ALL of it!

I got transplanted to Oklahoma, I've lived on both the east and west coasts and I miss my healing beaches......you can't even swim in most bodies of water here.......

We could have organic vegetable gardens, and we could grow flowers to sell in markets and stuff! But you know what the rest of the world would say? A whole community of witches! Let's burn 'em out! We can't have our children exposed to evil! Sorry, I hate a downer! I agree anyway, it would be too hard to find one place we could all agree on. I would want to be in the north where it snows a lot in the winter and doesn't get too hot in the summer. And there's probably a lot of people who hate snow and love hot weather. We could do four corners! We could be a united community split into four areas of the globe. We'd all get together for solstace celebrations or something. OK, I'm rambling.

Ah, but only close to impossible - not totally impossible. What if we could set a date, say, five years from now? We could have regional solstices, state or province solstices, etc., where everyone would gather in their local meeting places at the same time - we wouldn't necessarily have to be all together in the same place.......

They have made me feel so much better ...:) ...Thats what counts right ? Just from me feeling misunderstood we have all taken a journey to a place where we all could live and be happy !

dont' feel too lonely moongazer; I've personally met lots of really beautiful people in missourri (it's where my mom's from actually), so you've just gotta look around, start networking. If you ever hear of some people from the East Wynds community (they make almond butter and stuff like that, mmmM!) they're really great people, and they make great chai tea! I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for though; just throw your line out , and be patient, and it'll come to you. It's always when you least expect it, you know? :)

Fantastic idea! :T Our little group did, and we actually got one member from posting on the Witchvox list! Also, although MW is the BEST list - there are others on Yahoo and other sites. One that I enjoyed for a while is

:) heheh..Thanks to WitchVox I know I'm not alone out here (even though I'm a ways from anywhere in a mostly Christian & Sikh town).... :boing: Yay!
