Hi,
I am studying for a major human bioscience exam (worth 70% of my final grade) and would really like to know what colour candles I can burn while studying to help with concentration, and comprehension and memory!
I really like the subject, but I struggle with the amount of stuff I am sposed to remember.
I want to create my own ritual for study too, like lighting the candle, some incence saying a prayer, centering myself, that sort of thing. I am totally new to this, but figure I will make it up as I go along until I learn what I am sposed to be doing.
Here is a bit of background I am in my first year of a nursing degree, I am married and have a 2.5 yr old daughter who is wild :)
Any thoughts and ideas would be really apreciated!

What color resonates "studying" to you?
For me, its a light yellow, but for you it might be different.
I use sandlewood because it helps me concentrate but for you it may be different. Experiment a little.
Also, can you get some past exams from your lecturer? Sometimes it can help narrow the field down a bit and find which areas will mostly be targetted. Also ask the lecturer for particular areas you need to look at.
:hugz: Good luck!

Well, yellow is the colour associated with the Element of Air, the Element of Intellect-- in the Western Mystery Tradition; whereas orange is associated with the planet Murcury-- the "Messanger of the Gods". Perhaps you could create an anointing oil for one candle or another? But, keep in mind that no spell will automatically bring the answers to you-- that's a fantacy. ;) Rather, enter into it with the belief that it would be a pschological trigger; perhaps wearing the aninting oil when you take the test to "trigger" this altered state of consciousness.

I have a couple of past exams to look at and also a list of objectives within each topic. It is mainly remembering the names of everything....and the order of things.
I just went and bought two pillar candles, one have a deep yellow/orange on bottom and gets lighter to the top and smells like lemon, the other is a deep purple on bottom and gets lighter towrads the top, smells like vanilla.
They are just cheap shop candles, but I think to me it will be the intellect and stimulation, but the purple seems to feel calming and wise. So I'm hoping they will balance out each other.
This is really amazing. It's very weird listening to my intuition rather than what I am told....

I guess maybe what I am looking for is a way to create a special space for study so that it becomes easier for me to "settle" so to speak. wearing the anoiting oil sounds like a great idea! No idea where to start...but I'm sure I will work it out :)

What I did during my exams was while I was studying I'd hold a stone of my chosing, I took it into the exam and sat it on the table, whenever I felt stuck I held the crystal and used to try and hold it, turn it, throw it about when i was learning something so I had a "gateway" to linking to subconscious knowledge i knew and id remember reading it while doing something with the stone :)

That is a great idea! Thank you! Now I just need to get myself a stone, don't have much money at the moment, does it matter if it isn't anything fancy? I might see if I can find a rock or something from the back yard?? My daughter seems to have an affinity with rocks at the moment, maybe we could pick one together.

I love tigers eye, and I have a piece that comes with me to most exams (usually in my bra, close to my heart and touching my skin).
I use rosemary to help with memory.
Goodluck!

Well to me it is yellow. Sometimes it is red if I am feeling lazy. Anyway, for future reference, there is a good color exercise that you may want to try to get your own personal meanings. Get a book of construction paper and a notebook. Look at each color and spend some time looking at it. It may help to imagine the color surrounding you. Write down all of the impressions that you get and what the color makes you think of. That way you can have a more personalized color correspondant list.

It's biology! Use green for plants, or another color related to what you struggle on, like if it's WBC choose white, Grey for brains, etc...
