Went and got a new deck of cards. It's called the "Universal Tarot" by Maxwell Miller. MUCH better then the last deck I got.
Has anyone heard of this deck? I find them fairly easy to read.

I think I have heard of it. I am going to go look it up and see if it is the one I am thinking of.
I have a Robin Wood set. I am taking baby steps to learn to use it. I found a few places online that teach tarot reading, and I intend to purchase a book about it next week.
I was reading through the story thread in here. Great idea, great thread.

I did a search on universal tarot and it pulled up hundereds of decks. That won't work.
Any description or who is it that makes the cards?

Samuel Weiser, Inc., I think.
There is one major diference, they refer to the Pentacles as Disks. Ace of Disks, and so on. There are a couple of other changes in the Majors but, the idea is the same.
Happy hunting.

The Celtic deck I had purchased was.. Well... Too Celtic.
They didn't feel "smooth" so to speak. This new deck, dipiste lacking the Penticles, is a lot more fluid for me. I think they will work just fine.

I have 2 decks right now.
The Russian Tarot of St. Petersburg from US Games Systems and The Tarot Art Nouveau from Llewellyn.
The Art Nouveau deck has all the normal suits, but has some gorgeous artwork. A friend of mine gave them to me a few weeks ago. The Russian ones I've had for a couple of years and I have a really strong connection with them. They're black and gold, and also ave beautiful and intriguing artwork (the Devil is painted to look like Stalin!). The only thing is that the suits are Clubs, Swords, Cups, and Coins. But they work for me, so I'm not complaining! :D

So pull a card and write something in the Fun Time thread. I think Ethan could use a little help right about now.
And don't look at me like that. Just write.

oohh!!! Books...my fav topic. Can I suggest an excellent one? Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack. I have mentioned it before but I cannot stress enough how great this book is. It is like my bible.

I have many decks but just found "MY" deck two years ago at Laurie Cabots shop in Salem MA. It's the Sacred Rose deck. I'm not sure if it was the incredible vibes from just being in that shop or it's the deck itself but it is perfect for me. Also while thinking about books...a tarot boook that I love is The tarot handbook for the master. It is a big red book but for the life of me I can't remember who wrote it. They have levels of beginner, intermediate and master. The master level is pretty in depth and gives some great alternatives to the norm.
Just thought I'd put my two cents in here!!
