This thread is dedicated to a beautiful stone of the river-spar family: Fluorite.
Feel free to discuss any colour or colour combination of this stunning stone.
Maybe you can post your favourite stone items too ? Or jewelry pieces ....
do you prefer the chinese or the south american variety, or one whole different one ?
lets share our experiences on that one....:lookwhats

I love fluorite. :}
I have several fluorite points (I think that's what they're called) that vary
in color from clear to blue to dark purple.
I also have an obelisk shaped flourite that used to be green and blue and
purple. unfortunately, I left it in the sunlight for too long and it faded.
I feel rather bad about that.

:viking:I guess we both learned our lessons there, hmm? :}
I have used the fluorite points in healing work, on myself and others.
I feel the energies are very . . . direct? clear? . . . with them.
I find this curious - two seperate people have felt it necessary to send
me fluorite points, which is how I aquired the ones that I have. I did not
ask them for the stones, apparently they felt they were "meant" for me.
I've been given fluorite other times, too, now that I think about it.
:}
oh yes, I also have a beautiful little fluorite that has amazing blues and
purples and greens in it that makes me feel full of peace and joy even
just thinking about it.

my flourite I had to have on when my ear infection was bad.
My purple flourite I rotate around in the garden to the minnds and balms to increase the scent and growth. I love to smell it after it picks up the scent from a mint plant.

I have a small piece of Rainbow. And I used to have a piece of Green flourite from Australia. I used it to help open my Third Eye all the time before meditation. Sadly during a move from my old place to here it got lost. Never found it and we went over my old place thourghly. Sighs. I hate when a stone deciedes to up and leave. Never did come back.
I haven't used my little Rainbow yet. So that is something I need to address soon.

l've been collecting crystals for about 6 years now and it all started off with my first purchase of large fluorite teardrop which l thread onto a piece of leather . I also use it my artwork , as well as other crystals ; l make leadlight mirrors , suncatchers and windchimes out of glass and crystals and silver . The only thing you need to be careful of when you wear fluorite is chipping , it's a very soft crystal so it can be hard to find in rings. ( and best not to leave it in the sun either .)

there are softer stones than fluorite and in general you have to be careful with all stones as they might chip as well.

I LOVE banded green and purple fluorite! It's one of my favourite stones. I use it to help me concentrate and focus when studying - it's absolutely brilliant as a "Students stone." I give it as a gift to all my friends who are students, it's excellent for clarity and focus.
I've never actually been lucky enough to look at a piece of blue fluorite in person, let alone work with it! I really should get some....

Well... although I do not find myself attracted to Flourite there was a discovery made in China about 3 years ago which really attracted my interest. Recently the pocket where it was found was exhausted and no more has been found since so I have been eyeing a piece which I fell in love with about 2 months ago. I finally broke down and bought it.... this really is unique stuff.. especially with the white microcrystalline quartz matrix which really adds to the composition of the specimens from this location. It measures about 17cm across.

I love fluorite - I think it's incredibly beautiful, and its energies really resonate with me for some reason. I have a couple of tumbled crystals, several pieces of jewelry, a sphere, and a banded slab around my home.

i just recently rediscovered i still have a flat of beautifull spaish fluorite
they are from th mine Anna, in Berbes (Spain)
most of them are green, some are purple. they grow in cubes and sometimes the cubes are covered with more cubes.
I will try taking pictures soon too.
the dealer i got the flat from told me, i could clen off the byminerals with acid (obviously aragonite/calcite) but i dont mind the grey covering on top of the fluorite, plus it woul be a pitty taking off another powerful stone for joints and bones, which is a classy add on to Fluorites similar healing capacities. sure, theyd be more pure, but i still cant get myself to purfy something away, Mother earth has grown over centuries (and most definately for a reason)
