...When you pour wax into water and watch the shape it makes to get an answer to something or whatever??
Forgot the name, and hadn't even thought of it in over a year, but the other day I was taking a bath, and had a candle burning (wonderful smell, this honeysuckle or honeydew stuff, anyway, it smells like a tropical starburst :D). And when I was draining the tub, just for kicks, I poured the melted wax into the bath water, and it formed into roses. There were about three, and what looked like a bundle... it got me curious...
What do roses mean with that type of...uh...thingie, or whatever it's called?

I think it is called ceromantics, sometimes carromantics. Usually you take a candle (black is most commonly used I think..), write your question on it, and drip some wax into a bowl of water. And then you interpet the symbol. Can't help you with the rose though, but go with your instincts :) for me a rose sometimes is associated with love.

It's called Ceromancy. According to Candle Magic by Patricia Telesco, you hold onto the candle as it burns & think of your question. Tilt the candle over water or wax paper as you keep focusing on the question. In the book, the colour of the candle was symbolic as well. It wasn't limited to black candles.
Rose usually means romance, love blossoming. In the language of roses, the colour of the rose signifies something too. What colour were your roses, SS? What was your first impression of the bundle?

The roses were Green, because the candle was green. And my first impression: Well, they looked like something decorative... There were two single roses and then a group of roses... and there was another one that was like a third rose, but it wasn't really actually like a full rose...it was more like a couple of petals...

To me, green is the colour of new life, growing things. Colour of health & youthfulness, potential for all sorts of wonderful happenings. Green is the colour of wealth & abundance. It corresponds to Spring. And roses usually correspond to love & romance.
I see this as perhaps a possible romance is in the air. Or at least a very good friendship budding. Perhaps its from the group of friends you already hang out with. Someone you know already but is looking at in a new light? The 3rd rose may say that this relationship is still in early stages. Maybe even too early to tell where it's going yet. Whatever it may be, it has the potential to be very special. The number of roses may be significant too. Sometimes the number shows a timeline when things could happen. How close the roses were to you physically could be important.
Well, that's my impression. Never did a candle wax reading for anyone before. :D

Weeellllllll, this DOES make sense! There is this guy who I have gotten an interest in, and he apparently has an interest in me...
You are a good interpreter, Wildchild :D
You should do it more often ;)

Thankee! Anytime! :D I'm curious...were you thinking of him when you poured the wax in the water?

Well, the whole bath I had been thinking about him (the bath is such a wonderful place to think :)) and at the time I poured the wax, I was just generally thinking of him. That and I have been really excited about this weekend, 'cause he's taking me camping....
In any case, I was just thinking about how much I'd like to be with him...

Well, I did it again tonight :p
This time, I had two candles: an orange one and a green one. I poured the orange one in first, and it made a big bundle of flowers....like, I can't recall what they'd be called, but they were those teenie little flowers with those cutsie petals that bunch together when they grow...
And then the green candle made a big rose (gees, with all these flowers, I could start a garden! :p), only this time the rose was incomplete in that it was missing petals. Only a few, like 2 or 3 and it would look like a complete rose...
...any ideas?

Does anybody know what it means when you're burning several of the same candles and one leaves much more long, flowing wax runoff than the others?

Probably means that it was leaning more to one side, rather than standing straight...
