I don't remember saying there was something wrong with a study group. I do remember reminding people how they can find answers here at MW.

I think posting it here would be good. That way other new pagans can join in as you go along. As well, the not-so-new ones can help out with the questions too.

hmm. . . ok. I have a question for those involved so far, sort of an idea of where to start.
What "aspect" of paganism do you focus on, so to speak. . . Tarot or Herbalism or astral/spiritual, or magick. . . and any ideas for a good starter topic? hehe opinons are a good thing!

Well then Nissala what do you want to learn :)

Paganism is such a broad topic. Would you be looking at all the different paths of paganism? Or concentrating on Wicca? That itself is pretty broad also.

What about all reading the same book, and commenting on it.
Tell the others what we've learned, or what we don't get?

there's a book discussion on Green Witchcraft in Books. Unfortunately people don't contribute much to it. :)

I should add - if you have a book in mind and everyone is willing to contribute to the discussion we could start a book discussion in Books.

I think the book idea is a good one. . . but hmm ok Got an idea.
What, to you, is magic(k)? Is that word anything special to you? What did you think about it growing up? VS now? Anything you'd like to add about it?
a nice paragraph ^^; I'll be replying shortly!

There's one going currently in the Book Forum to discuss Green Witchcraft I by Ann Moura. So far, we're up to chapter 4. If anyone wants to join in, please feel free.

I would like to learn more about meditation, grounding and centering, since this is a big problem for me to accomplish. Try as I may I cannot seem to keep my focus. BUT, I will NOT give up trying and any pointer, explinations, information, guided tape suggestions will be more than welcome!!!!
:boing: <---don't ya just love this one?!! I do!

I agree with this one. That and visualization techniques, if anyone should want to start there.

Ok, let's go! :)
Click on http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14065
I was thinking next we could work on meditation (visualization, grounding, and centering, are first fundamental to meditation I feel), then perhaps basic pagan (or wiccan) theology, or mind keys (correspondences, like colours, days, etc.), or herbcraft, divination, etc.
Where would you like to go next?

Lesson 2 up; it's on magical/spiritual cleansing. I have some ideas for the next one to start, such as talking about elements and what they mean to each of us, etc. What do you think?

I just saw this one, and is it too late to be in the study group? I've read several books, but I'd love to be able to have some help, if it's OK.

hmm. . . what about "second sight" excersizes. . . like practicing seeing things with your second sight rather than nessicarily your "normal" senses? Any thoughts on that? (seeing OR hearing. . . but seeing can be fun. Like wandering around in the dark, reaching out with your senses and "feeling" your way hehe)

With so many ideas flying around, it's hard to choose what to go on to next.
I like the idea of the elements though. :)

Doing the Elements next would be a good idea. What about doing each one as a separate lesson?

I agree, WildChild....There's so much to do with each one, the lesson might be a bit..um..overwhelming. :)
