I know it's not exactly proper practice, but lately I've been going to bed at night and trying to still my mind like in a meditative state. I'm trying to create a deeper relationship with the Goddess/God and I admit, I'd also like to get some of those mind blowing meditation experinces most Pagans have.

Well, I think I did it about a week ago. I was laying there and for a few brief moments I saw a bright green dragon with red points. And I don't mean saw as in mind's eye...but saw as in actual image like you see on a computer screen. And when it appeared, it felt like something had hit me. Almost how you feel when are going to sleep and fall back into your body...but this time my heart was beating fast and I saw sparks.

So my question is......what now? I haven't seen him again in my meditations. I did have a big red oriental style fan over my bed for awhile, but recently took it down because of the kitten's grabby paws. After moving the desk away from the bed, I think it would be safe to put it back up. I'm thinking I'm going to do that tomorrow as a sort of sign back saying "I heard ya." Good idea? Bad idea?

Try whatever you feel will work to accomplish your goals. Putting the fan back seems like a good idea.

Not "proper practice"....? Do whatever works for you. No need to be proper about anything.

I'd put the fan back up, or do something else to acknowledge the occurence, even if it is just talking. :)

Just saw this thread. Green astral dragons are commonly sited by other pagans. My guess it was just passing through when you were meditating. If you want to try and contact that dragon or another.try having pics or images of dragons in the room.

I agree with lightdragon, it could have been passing through. I think that it's a good idea about putting the fan back up. Maybe it was fascinated with it? I don't know, but it seems your best bet. I also agree with lightdragon on having anything to do with dragons around you when trying to contact it again. Still can't figure out why they like it, even though I have a companion of my own :smileroll.

it tells them , you honor them or want them around. also be mindful on what type of imagery you put up. a knight slaying a dragon is also givng them a message , which is not very conductive to working with dragons.

I wish I could say that this has a significant spiritual meaning, but I believe dreams, visions, etc. have more to do with ourselves more than anything (of course).

Here's just a little bit of a side-note: There's something called hypnagogic hallucinations; many people have them, they just don't know what to call it. I experience it full force if I'm stressed out or am very sleep deprived. What happens is, when you are just slipping into that sleep state, images and "stories" unfold infront of your minds' eyes - almost like a dream - you know it's happening, but you can't control it. Sometimes, like when you're stressed or sleep deprived (such as when I experience it), there are very, VERY frightening things that pop up and they can't be controlled unless you willingly open your eyes. It can make it hard to go to sleep sometimes.

So, in effect, I liken visions to that almost of a dream; a dragon seems to represent a struggle between the light and dark side, such as within yourself. This is only my take on it; so perhaps it's slightly spiritual if that's how you interpret it to mean in your life.

sometimes that is the case. But in this one, i believe otherwise.
