Today is suppose to be our Lord Sun's day to shine and be his mightiest and yet all day today in Michigan, United States it's been raining. He shone a little bit for about an hour. Well, Happy Summer Solstice to you and and may the sun brighten any cloudy days ahead for you!
Blessed Be!

Hmm, it was cloudy most of the day here in Wisconsin as well. But now the sun is shining through, so it's not so bad...

Same here... I'm in Ohio and it was downright DARK out until around lunch time. Sun came out for just long enough to tease and it's been gloomy again since.
Happy Solstice to you too anyway!

I'm sorry to hear that---ya'll should come down here!

It's been really sunny, really humid and REALLY freaking hot (it's awful just walking outside around lunchtime). We are actually looking forward to a low-grade hurricane this year cuz we really need the rain (think tropical depression or tropical storm).

Last night was an absolutely beautiful evening, though...

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing last night.
I'm in Michigan as well and it was really rainy and at times pretty stormy a good part of the day.
Very powerful storms moved through last night.
Perked up my altar with a new cloth and a couple new things. Focused on the blessings of summer. Collected herbs and flowers from garden to make a posie.
But also said a prayer for those who don't have as much or anything.

I'm sorry you couldn't see the sun where you are. I hope you were still able to feel his presence.

It was sure sunny here in south-central Kansas. I celebrated Summer Solstice by taking my grandchildren to the swimming pool. My Circle will be getting together on Saturday evening to do a ritual.

Yesterday while watering my garden very early in the morning, a Swiss chard who has gotten over six feet tall, as it goes into flowering & seed, told me *No pruning today!*

So I did no pruning, because it would have disturbed the Garden's Solstice Celebration.

It was very sunny here in Newfoundland yesterday, and very warm as well. Also very windy, though. Perfect solstice weather (well, except for the wind, but that helped keep the temperature down, so it's good. XD).

I actually haven't celebrated it yet, but I'll do it soon. Still don't know what I'm going to do. xP

Very very suny and hot out here.

Gah.

Where is Winter? I miss it.
Ok ok.. I'll settle for Fall.

I dislike Summer and any sort of heatness and sun shining on me.

The Santa Ana winds kicked in just in time for Midsummer :). It was over 90 degrees before 10 AM. The air was so hot that everything outdoors had a *sharp*, more real than real appearance. I noticed a simliar quality to the light last Midsummer, as well. I spent noon last year in the company of a couple of venerable old oak trees around which my community has sprouted like toadstools. I could think of no better place to celebrate the Solstice than in their company once again. They're majestic, and yet melancholy.

The energy from the sun is responsible for the rain too...just a little perspective to help us remember when Sol isn't showing his face, he is still demonstrating his power.
