MM,
Hehe this may sound odd, but has anyone else ever had a huge urge to hug thier deity(s) hehe, I've such a day of exploration today, realised what a dream meant that i can still remember from when i was 5 (I'm 15 now) and it's changed my outlook on many things, how i really got into Paganism to name one hehe.

Hehe, I had a God come to me in a dream before and I hugged him and held his hand and stuff...
Now it's just to find out who I was hugging, because I still haven't figured out who my god is!! :D:D

I have been hugged by a ghost, but not a goddess yet. Unless the ghost was one.

Yup, I far back as I can remenber, I have had a ghost hanging around me. She is quiet, and friendly. She likes to move things around, play ticks on me. And sometime she just likes to hold me. The frist few times, it really bothered me, but a got use to it. I get a very different felling, that goes though me, when she touches me. It is different then human touch, I'm not sure how to say what it is like.

I guess that you are not made too uncomfortable by it then?
I can't imagine hugging my Patronness Hecate, although I feel her hand on my shoulder often, which is comforting. Or quite scary, because she does it sometimes to let me know I'm heading in the wrong direction, and she can get quite exasperated with me if I ignore her!

Yes, definitely. I've often felt like hugging my Deity:-)
I met a priest in India who, after dressing his Deities in the morning, embraced them warmly. I think it was a wonderful, spontaneous act. Nevertheless, many of us feel quite a lot of reverence and awe toward our Deities, and that's good too. I've heard of some people who would love to hug their Deities, but feel that they are still too impure (ie. their thoughts are selfish, not loving, etc.) to do so. Thus I'm still only _thinking_ how wonderful it would be to be hugged by Them.

heheh hug hug HUG!!! Sometimes I feel like I'm being rocked to sleep (or sung to sleep or huggled) by the goddesses (and occasionally, gods) that I worship. Especially one that I can only know as "my sister." ^_^ there's many a night I wouldn't have slept if not for her.

I always hug my Deities during visualization, or they always hug me. Never thought about it before. It just came naturally, and it always feels great--warmth, caring, love, happiness, etc.

Ive been hugged by the goddess many times, It is usually how I end rituals. Like others have said, it just kind of came naturally and although it did surprise me at first (i always imagined deity was supposed to be something that was meant to be formal and all. boy was i wrong!) The latest deity to hug me was Aphrodite, after a ritual where I honored her. She hugged me in all her glory, and I immediatly felt full of love and like I could do anything. It was a wonderful feeling :D
