Hi All,

I was wondering if any of you have ever had a personal feeling when looking at/interpreting a card that was very different from any of the interpretations in a corresponding book. For example when I look at the Aquarian 3 of Cups I think conspiracy and secret magic; I also feel a little creeped out by the way the three women look at me (and everyone else who looks at the card). They seem to me to be three very powerful, dangerous (and, I'll admit) exciting women. However this is very different from the interpretations in the book.

As an aside - when working with multiple decks, have any of you had the same card keep coming up? A lot of the times two corresponding cards from different decks will give me very different emotions, but if I see the card coming up should I be interpreting them the same way?

Anyway, just a couple of random thoughts- contribute if you like.

Sure. I never use the book anymore, and always go by personal feelings I get on characters and other things in the artwork. And yeah not only does it depend on the card or deck but also on the day, what I'm feeling, or just what character catches my eye in the card first.

Yeah, sometimes a new meaning just jumps out at you. 3 of Wands has done it for me - the 'usual' meaning is what I get most of the time, but a couple of times I get 'lonely' - the guy on the cliff looking at the ships, wishing he was there.

I keep a log of the cards I draw every day (I do a 3-card spread), and at the end of the month I try to see patterns. Most of the time I get more Swords than average. Last December was the first time I got more Cups than average, and it was a very emotional month.
