Just finished this last night.
I bought an expensive set of water color pencils and never used them till now. I was experimenting and wa-la it turned into this:
(Sorry about the watermarks. People steal others' art online, that's to protect it.)

Mother Earth

Snake- feminine, fertility
Brown skin- earth, dirt
Green veins- mimic roots, plants, life
Blue and purple background: Air and Sea

That's beautiful, Aga!

Random aside: When I first saw it, I thought, "Oh, look - my chest while pregnant..."
(Naturally pale skin and ginormous blue veins don't mix :p )

Thank you, Proxieme :).

I can't say I know what you're talking about cause I've never been pregnant, but I can imagine.

Ohhh, I should explain, then:

When you first get pregnant you start to gear up for lactation which really increases blood flow and makes your veins prominent (it did for me, anyway).
That was actually my first clue (other than an inkling) that I was preggers - looking down and seeing my new rootish pattern.

I never knew that.
It fits with what I was going for though-- nuturing earth. Ha. Pretty cool.
