No..no no no. When I was young and just starting out on my own, I spent way too many hours in the laundrymat. One of the first major purchases I made for myself was a washer and dryer and I've rarely been without one since. Sometimes I've had to go to the laundrymat to wash a comforter or large blankets or sleeping bags after camping, but a couple of months ago I bought a set of the whirlpool duet front loaders and don't have to do that anymore!! Whooohooo !!!

Nope, never. During the time I didn't have a machine of my own I washed everything by hand instead.

I wash mine at home. When I was without washer and dryer, I also did my clothes by hand on a washboard. My washer and dryer look like they're from the late 70's, but they're still kickin'!:)

Sadly, yes. We have a washer/dryer room in my apt. but no washer and dryer. Still, its a good oportunity to people watch and read.

I used to have to go to the laundry mat for many years.
I only just 3 years ago got a washer/dryer in my home!
Thank goodness.
I never want to spend another minute in one of those again!

Although I always lived near one.
And finally I would just go pop clothes in washer,
come home, go back, pop in dryer, then go pick up, and fold at home.
Thats how sick of them I was.

Not anymore! muhahah! Thats why I had gotten this luxury apartment, to get my own washer and dryer. I am washing all my clothes in preparation for a move to baltimore. Couldn't have done it with a laundromat, would have taken me weeks.

I have so much clothes that I can literally do several loads of each color.

Nope. We have a full size washer and dryer in our apartment.

With our first apartment... I had to. I hated it! Rain, sun, or snow, I had to schlep those clothes down once a week. Bah.

Before I owned my own house, I used to go to the laundry mat every two weeks. Despite the inconvenience of having to load all my clothes into the car, and drive to the place, then unload the clothes and then spend a roll of quarters on it.....

I really really liked being able to do all my laundry in an hour. I'd just grab one machine per load and get it done all at once.

Now, at home, I spend a whole day doing laundry, which sucks.

Right now yes. Every week, either my husband or I are there. Our washer/dryer are in storage in Wisconsin. I can't wait to get them back.
They are new and reliable. At the laundrymat you never know until you've put your money in.

I used to have to go to the laundromat when I was between houses . I did the sensitive items at home though, because no way was I taking them to the public germ bath !!

The worst experience I had was when I was about to load a washer . Experience taught me to always look first . It looked like a cute little white baby sock stuck to the side of the washer until I pulled it out and held it up and realized it was one of those tiny panty liners !!!
EEEEWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't appreciate the other times when I got some guy's underwear in with my stuff either .

But now, domestic bliss is mine with a new set of Whirlpools and my own laundry room . There is something so nice about your own machines humming away, doing all the work for you in private.

No, but I *do* occasionally go to the laundromat...

When we lived in NH,the apartment we had we werent allowed to have a washer and dryer. So we ended up having to go to a laundramat. Now that we moved to indiana. We live in a nice apt.complex where you can rent washers and dryers for in your apt. (it's included in the rent)35- a month, which I know we'd end up spending about that at a laundramat a month or even more.. I dont think I'll ever move :D Im spoiled now..we dont even have to plow/shovel in the winter,or mow the lawn in the summers.. well worth it..

No I have never been in one. Around here they have ones that are a combination laundromat/bar, they seem to be very popular.

Oh yes.. just for washing and drying 4 small loads is 10$! a small load barely fits a blanket. :awilly:

I feel so alone! Only four other people have to trek to the laundry mat. Well, I'm happy for those of you who don't have too. There was a washer and dryer in our last apartment and I MISS them so much. I don't know how we'ere going to handle the laundry mat once the baby comes...

And I wanted to use cloth diapers too, but there is no way I'm going to haul cloth diapers to the laundry mat once a week. I can just imagine the dirty looks I'd get form the other patrons. "Sorry for the smell, my baby's moved on to solid food..."

Feel privilaged you home laundry people ;)
