GRRRR!!!
This is a sore point with me! Chai means tea...none of these fancy smancy vanilla with sprinkles & whatever other cute things! Blah! Starbuck's ruining a good thing! They've bastardized a national drink!
(I like mine hot & spicey.... :D)

UHG I *hate* starbucks! They make the WORST chai. . . . there's this little coffee shop across from my college. . . . the NUMMIEST stuff there. . .
-_-; my friends and I were chai buffs before the rest of the country knew what chai WAS. . .

AH ^^; ok. For anyone who doesn't know, Chai is this really nummy tea (black tea base, with cloves and cinnamon and all sorts of nummy spices). The Chai you see around mostly, though, is chai LATTE, in other words, chai tea, heavily sweetened, with milk. I drink it with milk, although in a pinch I'll drink it straight from the teabag.

I used to get chocolate chai all the time while I was living in Vegas. Now that I'm in Michigan, it's hard to come by in some areas (at the grocery store, at least). But since I'm very limited on my caffine intake now (baby on the way), I stick to my decaf coffee, and no more chai for quite a while.
My husband makes this GREAT Thai tea that we buy from a family owned Thai resturaunt, but the stuff is SO strong there is no way I can have more than a sip of it. It is incredible tea, though! Pain in the butt to make, but worth it in the end. Hard to say exactly what is in it, the herbs bring out so many different flavors all at once, such good stuff :D

I need my caffine. I know the best coffee shop that has the best Chocolate Chai Latte, but tea's good, too. Cream, no sugar. Good and spicy.

I like my chai with sugar.
I like my chai brewed dark and with enough kick to wake me up. Sometimes I'll have a triple white chocolate chai. But they are sweet enough to nix the sugar. I.....what?   8O Oooohhh, I thought you meant.....
COFFEE!!!!!
heheheheheheheh. (pssst. Twigs had way too much stress lately )

I'm prettty adventurous and will try most things at least once. I like milk with some teas, like English Breakfast, but not with most. like Earl Grey, any Chinese tea, Green tea, herb teas, or whateve. In my experience, powdered tea is pretty low grade stuff. I don't use "Chai" though I've known what it means for many years, having lived in Japan, but using it in this context seems so precious and PC and I don't do PC
Last night, my kids and I went to the local Buddhist Temple where we were invited for dinner and Asian cultural entertainment celebrating Chinese New Year, and among other things had some really nice Lemon Tea ( not pekoe with Lemon ) It was nice. Not that its relevant but the food was great, they must have had over 30 different things, all, as it turned out (though I would have sworn otherwise) vegetarian. It was really fun exploring so many new tastes and experiences, and the kids had a good time too. Yum...

I like chocolate chai (but it's so hard to find :( ). My mom drinks the stuff in a bottle where you just add milk.

I've never had or ( before this) heard of chocolate tea. Whats in it? How are you supposed to drink it? ( I know, with your mouth LOL) do you drink it with milk or what? A freshly brewed cup of green tea is very nice.

well see you can get chai in a liquid form where it's already been brewed, sweetened, and had extra spices added to it (you can also get it in powdered). So all they do is add chocolate flavouring when they add the sweeteners and such. Or you could just mix chai with chocolate milk. . . . :)

Never had chai, but since I don't like tea anyway (unless it's lemon zinger, or chamomile), I will probably never try it.

I use Tazo chai, which comes in bags and i brew it myself. I usually add sugar and cream or milk (if I'm out of cream). The stronger the better. I've tried that pre-made stuff that's already liquid in a box and didn't really like it that much.
I'm a little confused about this "spiced" chai... all the chai I've seen is black tea with spices in the bag (cardamom, star anise, pepper, ginger, and cinnamon). Do you add more spice to it after you brew it or is this what you mean? And if this is what you mean, isn't that just plain chai?
