I was wondering, since my fiance is going to be buying me a ring with a nice rock, i was wondering if it's bad to put a different gem on the band, like a diamond with two saphire or emeralds on each side? is it ok to mix the properties of the two stones, or not? all imput appreciated!!

Nothing wrong with mixing stones... people have been doing it for thousands of years in one form or another. For many it creates a powerful tool in thier life. I know many people who have had fabulous pieces of jewelry created for themselves which contain 3 or more cut stones as well as 2 or more metals which comprise the band. Remember to take into account the properties of the metal of the ring as well be it silver, gold or whatever.

When all is said and done just be aware of the individual properties and how they work together. Also, if at all possible, if you can get your hands on the cut gemstones before hand and cleanse them individually as well as work a bit with each individually before-hand it allows the energies of the ring to be a lot more structured in the opinions of some. Some feel for permanent jewelry it's best to follow this process and instill in each stone (as well as the metal if possible) long term energies instead of short term individual problem solving energies. By working with each stone prior to it getting mounted into a setting it allows you to more carefully instill into each stone the energies you would like it to focus on during your life path. When the ring is completed its individual pieces will resonate in a way that cannot be accomplished to this level if the work is left until after the ring is completed... all this being said not many have the luxury to do this unless you are getting the ring custom made and the jeweler is willing to let you have the cut stones for a few days before he completes the ring. It also helps to know the jeweler :) .

Lastly... no matter what you do make sure to cleanse the ring when you recieve it and take some time to get to know it if its energies are to be recognised and tapped in to on a day to day basis. Any jewelry, no matter if the stones are worked with prior to the piece's completion or after its completed, has the potential to be a prowerful influence in your life if it is properly cleansed and is attuned to you. Pick the stones and metals carefully and wisely, treat them with love and respect, and you will have gained a powerful companion in your life's journey.

A diamond is something of a "perfect" mineral and anything you combine it with will only be enhanced by its properties, gaining strength and power from it.

If you research the diamond through history nobility has coupled it with many many other precious and semi-precious gems. There isn't anything that you couldn't sit next to a diamond that isn't going to be magnified and strengthed by its natural ability to intesify that which it is near.

In otherwords you can't go wrong.

To add sapphires around your diamond would then intensify the sapphires properties which are...
lightness, joy, with depth of beauty and thought. It is a stone of prosperity and aids in fulfilling the dreams and desires of the consciousness.

The emeralds properties list it as the stone of "perfected love", it aides in providing domestic bliss, to instill both sensitivity and loyalty within the self and within others. It can help bring harmony in all parts of ones life.
