Any Ideas?

In a few months I am plegding myself to another, and am looking for ideas on short, rather informal, rituals for a small group with mixed religious affiliations.

The people in attendance understand we are heathens, but I don't want to do a full blown, extravigant(sp) ritual.

Any Ideas?

This will be a jeans and T-shirt event......Its really hot here in July!

Well there's been a thread or two on handfastings - even if that's not what you're doing it might give you some ideas - so use our search function to search for "handfasting", "wedding", etc.

That said, I think that's a great idea! I've been toying with doing a separate wedding and handfasting. I've also been thinking about doing an informal handfasting to "bond" us and then later when we can afford to do a full out wedding. You see my family and his know we're Pagan, but well we don't want them to feel uncomfortable or confused at a handfasting. Someone's going to say "well it's YOUR wedding" - well sure it is, and I'd like to share the Pagan part of myself with my Pagan friends who understand it and love it, and still do a nice big (possibly church) wedding for everyone.

Anyway, I'm not sure how far you want to go with this. You could incorporate actually tying your hands, jumping the broom, etc. or you could use a simple candle lighting ritual that isn't obviously Pagan. You could say vows and do a ceremony or just have a big party and exchange rings.
I would probably do a bit of both - exchange rings, say some words, and party all night :)
