I went for my ultrasound today. Both doctors ended up being an hour behind. so from 9am-10:15. we just waited in the room. Art got to take a snooze, and slept through most of my doctors appointment. Luckily he was awake for the ultrasound.
We saw a nice round head, and baby flipped over and was moving his/her hands and legs. I thought I could see the baby opening it's mouth. We couldnt see the head in great detail. My doctor said at 12 weeks we wouldnt be able to look at the brain.. I am being sent in 5-6 weeks for a higher level ultrasound though. I feel good with what i saw and I believe in my heart that this baby is healthy. The heartbeat was 162. I was very happy about that and seeing that the baby is growing. I dont think I'll worry as much now. I am happy to finially see he/she. i'll we 12 weeks tomorrow,so I'll be into the 2nd trimester SOON! :)
I'll keep you all posted when i do have the next ultrasound. My next appointment is on august 7th,and then we'll most likely have the ultrasound. Im also going to get the afp test then too I believe.

Yay!

I am glad you are feeling better and all seems to be going on track right now.

*hugs*

You're doing great, and I'm sure the little one in there is healthy. Looking forward to hearing how your next ultrasound goes :)

yea, Im very happy. :) I cant wait till the next ultrasound. I also gave my doctor a bunch of flyers from my anenchephaly support group. It was made by a couple members, so when future mothers find out that their baby has anen. they will have alittle pamplet on what it is and what to expect, etc . plus info on grief.. My way of hopefully helping others out there.. :)

I do have 1 ultrasound photo, which isnt too clear, but as soon as my husband wakes up, I'll scan it. from the ultrasound im actually 11 weeks and 6 days, not 11 weeks 5 days. the doctor who did the ultrasound said january 15th as my due date, their still goign by the 19th.. im wondering if the spotting i had on april 24th was from implantaion and not ovulation..

OhMyGosh, I hate waiting in doctor's offices, but that's way more common with ob/gyn's for obvious reasons, eh?

I'm so happy that the first pics of your baby came out so good. http://home.mindspring.com/~kevin_elder/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/av-1400.gif

thanks everyone :)
I scanned the Ultrasound photo, but it isnt too clear. The doctor had a hard time getting a clear crown to rump photo,as the baby kept moving.. :)

I really wish the picture had come out alittle better. I dont understand why my doctor didnt have me go to the hospital for a more detailed scan. It was meant for dating purposes only really. I know that we saw the nice round head, but it would have been nice to have on the picture.

I can understand that it would be nice to have it on a pic, but remember that the important thing is that you DID see a beautiful little round head :)

Very cool, DreamSpell! I agree with what HorseCrow said.. Pictures are really nice, but there is nothing more exciting and happy than seeing it right there on the screen. Waiting on the Doctor is really frustrating. I've had to wait up to an hour almost every appointment I've had so far. One week, it was because another Doctor was on vacation, and My Doctor was seeing all of his patients on top of his own. Ugh.

This pregnancy is blessed, Hon. I have no doubt that all is well. But I know that when you go for the other Ultrasound, you'll be put at ease even more!

thanks :)
My husband has reassured me that the baby does have a round head. He saw more than I did. I saw a couple glances, but he was right behind the doctor.. I know I saw the head, and i feel good, but I dont know why Im still afraid. I know i will feel much better come 18 weeks. I know because the doctor couldnt give me a definite "all clear,no defects", im still just on guard.
