I am using the Dragon Tarot, and I was doing a 4-card reading for a general outlook on where I should be spending my energy. When I got to the "where should I be directing my spiritual energy?" card, it was the Five of Swords, which means crossed swords and a parting of ways. I am not sure how to see it in the terms of the reading...does it mean I need to start honoring different gods that I do now? Or is someone upstairs annoyed with me? _inabox_ What do you guys think?

Five of Swords can mean your either attempting to get somewhere and there is an uphill battle going on stopping from reaching your goals or its a protective card, there are people attempting to get at something and your the only thing stopping them and your in the point of advantage.

If you post the whole reading it might make some more sense. If you don't mind sharing it, that is. :)

Good point. 8O
Here's the spread I used, from aeclectic.net:
1 . . . . 2 . . . . 3 . . . . 4
1 -- where should I direct my emotional energy?
2 -- where should I direct my physical energy?
3 -- where should I direct my spiritual energy?
4 -- my best, next move
Here's what I got:
1 - The Sun
2 - Four of Swords
3 - Five of swords
4 - The Moon
It seems sort of odd to me that card pairs appear like this, I own a few different decks and this is the only one where cards tend to appear in pairs at least once in a reading. I can shuffle a billion times over and still get a pair.
But at any rate, I can't quite see what the Five of Swords is trying to tell me. Not sure why, it just seems foggy.

Ick, I hate the Dragon Tarot. Beautiful deck, but, IMO, the symbolism is kinda sparse.
Perhaps it's showing that the way that you're currently focused isn't the right way? Perhaps you need to start applying yourself more, investing real sweat into it, and figuring out which bits of your ideology need to be modified -- sort the wheat from the chaff, as it were.

I think you might be right, a little soul-searching is in order. :) Thanks!
PS- I do agree with you on the lack of symbolism. But I think its a nice deck anyway. :)

I am not familiar with the Dragon Tarot, so this may be off base. But I'd take it as meaning you need to work on your spiritual strength and ability to deal with conflict, and possibly to work on your magickal defenses.
