When: Aug. 19th. 2006 - Aug. 20th. 2006
Where: TOHR Community Center, 621 E. 4th (4th and Kenosha), Tulsa, Oklahoma
Times: Saturday 10-7, Sunday 11-6

Pagan Pride Day was first brought to Oklahoma in 2004. This was Oklahoma's first Pagan Pride Day, and while being hosted in Tulsa, there was support from throughout the State. Pagan Pride Day is now sponsored by The Oklahoma Pagan/Heathen Alliance. It is open to anyone with a desire to come together in peaceful understanding of the world's diverse religious backgrounds. Pagan Pride Day is a great opportunity for those who wish to see more of the various Pagan and Heathen Paths that are available. It is not JUST for Pagans. It is for anyone who wants to learn more and who is promoting tolerance and diversity.

This year's event will be held in the new TOHR (Tulsa Oklahomans for Human Rights) Community Center downtown. This wonderful facility has been newly renovated, and should be a marvelous venue. Ed from Subterra Castle in Kansas will be leading drumming circles each morning to build the energy, as well as offering drumming workshops. There will be lectures and hands-on workshops all day both days, belly-dancers, and wonderful organizations distributing their information.

Readers and healers of all sorts will be available, as well as the best selection of merchandise and services around. There will be crystals and stones, clothing, herbs, books, jewelry, incense and aromatherapy products, gifts, natural bath and body products, and everything in between.

We are still accepting registrations for vendors, healers, readers, and organizations. For more information and a registration form, email candy@spiritualitees.us or cogg1@sbcglobal.net

Check back often, as we will update the listing as workshops/lectures get finalized.

We're really excited....there's going to be SO much going on! While the festival doesn't officially open until 10 on Saturday and 11 on Sunday, there will be drumming circles both days the hour before opening. They are open to the public, although you won't have total access to the festival space, so bring your drum, rattles, noisemakers and help us build some terrific energy. Also at 9 on Saturday, a Kiowa Holy Man, Kenny Parton, will be cleansing and blessing the festival space. Of course, during the drumming, the belly dancers will be there to help shake up the energy!

We have over 40 readers, healers, and vendors with a huge selection of services and merchandise. Smokin' Okie will be providing the best smoked meat meals you've ever had, (and a terrific "Okie Veggie Platter" for the vegetarians among us), Tidal School Vineyards will be having free wine tasting and selling their great Oklahoma wines....

Add to all this 2 days of lectures and workshops--some hands-on. Carl Neal, our own Llewellyn author of "Making Incense", will be presenting "Making Incense 101"...and if you've never attended Carl's workshop you're in for a treat. Space is limited, so be there early!

The workshop schedule is as follows:

Saturday:

9-10 Kenny Parton/cleansing and blessings of the space; Ed Peden, drumming circle (the
Circle of Pagan Pride is begun).
10-11 Medicine Wolf--Native American Naming Ritual
11-12:30 Carl Neal--Incense Making 101
12:30-2 Gail Fritz--Basic Ritual Etiquette and grounding/centering for children
2-3 Heathen Women's Circle/Gerdhr--Heathen Sumbel (forgive if I mispelled!)
3-4 Ed Peden--Drumming Workshop
4-5 Gerdhr--Spinning
5-6 Medicine Wolf--Sweat Lodge Workshop
6-7 Star Zafiris/Hippy Shack--Belly Dancing Workshop

Sunday

11-11:30 Carl Neal---Eclectic Pagan Ritual
11:30-12:30 Egyptian Star Dreamer--Prayer Ties
12:30-1:30 Maidenhair--Prayer Beads
1:30-2:30 Mary Clyde--Lecture, "Mercury Retrograde"
2:30-3:30 Twyla Peacock and Graham Dance--Spirit Messages
3:30-4:30 Salem--Ask A Witch
4:30-5:30 Maidenhair--Nativist Crystal Web Ritual
5:30-6:00 Ed Peden...Drumming (the circle of Pagan Pride is complete.)

So come on out, bring your friends...we promise a fantastic time for all!

Directions: The TOHR Community Center is located at 621 E. 4th, on the east side of downtown Tulsa, on the northwest corner of 4th and Kenosha. It's a large grey building, and is just a few blocks east of Spaghetti Warehouse on 4th.

Well, I heard on Sat. just 3 hours into it, that they had already seen half of the people that came through last year. It definitely was bigger and better this year. I had a great time.
