Tarot Problems

Ok, so I was just wondering if anyone else is having issues with their deck(s). I was a very good reader, and still am when I can find a deck to work. About a year ago my deck just stopped working, and I'm like ok, it's all talked out. Went out and bought a new deck, one that I felt connected to, worked for about 1 reading, and stopped. So out of frustration I bought another deck, well it did readings but they were highly messed up. So, I was just wondering if anyone else has been having these issues.

I had feedback on a reading that was off base this morning and the cards seemed very strong in its indications on particular aspects of the reading. I'm grateful for feedback about readings, even if my readings are 100% wrong because it means i need to go back and look at why they did. Usually its a messed up translation or perhaps the reading wasnt meant for them and was for another person that they knew or is around them.

I think most important thing is not to worry too much because self doubt is a big no no at getting the right information accross. I find the "I dont care, if this is right or wrong" mentality is important because its always the silly little things you come up with in tarot that really mean the most.

Having said that i've used cards which have had waterdamage, bends and knicks on the corners and overall a worn out deck of card still work as good as the 1st day i purchased them.

I dont think the cards are not working, the spirit of tarot is too strong for them not too, i think the problem is you've allowed a few bad readings to get the better of you. What you need to do is realise that you cant get it right everyday of the week every second of the day, and reclaim that confidence and remove self doubt.

If you begin doubting yourself then it will just lead to further inaccurate readings.

i dont have any use for tarot cards, they dont tell me anything i dont already know or foresee. i think some people keep a bundle of sage in the box with their cards to keep them "clean" or whatever though. you could also try that along with Anomalous' suggestions which is a very good point of view to take towards tarot cards.

You don't have to spend any more money. It's not the cards, it's other stuff in your life that's interfering with your ability to connect.

i agree with anomalous in terms of how to detach from what you are reading, the cards and the outcome ... that is SO very important. i would suggest perhaps just a break from the cards altogether for a while ... study and submerger yourself in an ancillary subject that may give you a deeper insight into the tarot.

one of the reason i got into crystals and connecting with them is i was just bored with tarot, astrology & numerology ... i was actually on a learning plateau ... once i emersed myself in a 'new' channel of knowledge and came out the other side, the cards looked, smelled and gave me things i never imagined. and its not necessarily the learning of something new, but the new connection i found within myself that, for me, the crystals opened up. i also did a new meditation series and other 'changes' while i took the break. but it is definitely a break that the cards want ... and while you grow, they will wait (sometimes they are even patient!).

you mentioned that the readings are messed up, though i wonder if they bear a reflection on what is taking place in your life at present? while it is true that we may ask the tarot to provide an answer to specific questions, if there are other things that need to be brought to our attention they will show up instead.

i believe the other members are accurate in their encouragement of focusing on other subjects. rather than performing more detailed readings, you could restrict yourself to merely drawing one card per day and asking what you need to see. in this way you are forced to concentrate your attention on the message found in that single card and it's application to your circumstances.

I do not have that kind of problem, I Trust my Rider/Waite Tarot Deck as it was placed on the Slaughter Stone of The Stonehenge on the early Morning of Summer Sosltice in order to be Blessed and Consecrated and to be Empowered by the Stones to make Divinations that are Accurate and True.

It is now my Primary Deck above all others.

I haven't had those sort of things happen. It's more situational, as in the deck is saying "not now." But that said, have you done a cleansing? On your decks, your self and your reading area (if you have one)?

What a great question! I think Wolf may be onto something. I would look into connecting with a channel such as a God, god, goddess, angel, guide or some other entity. They will help you and also clear your energy.

I work through Upuat, He is Opener of the Ways. He is also a Netjer of divination. I work almost exclusively through Him. He is always on target. Sometimes He has to "shout" out a point that I have missed, but He is amazing. The cards never lie.

If we try to rely on ourselves only, I think we miss some very important information. I receive clairaudient and clairvoyant info during my readings sometimes from "someone" I am not familiar with. I believe sometimes it is the other person's guide or such that is speaking through me.
