What (if you have one) is your totem animals (spirit guide, spirit animals)?
Mine main spirit animal is the Owl.
I also have a deep connection with wolves, foxes, cats, and crows.
Blessed Be!

I am not sure what mine is. i do often have dreams that I have called nightmares of snakes. I am terrified of them but they do show up all the time for me in dreams. I have heard many different ideas on dream interps. Everything from sexual hangups to religion based ideas...the serpent etc. I have found myself wondering the past few months if this could actually be a power animal for meif I could get over the fear.

Semele,
Have you ever been bitten by, strangled by or woken up with one in your bed?

Never in bed but when I was young I was a big tomboy and never scared of anything, unlike my older brother who was afraid of all things. It was sort of the family joke, me taking care of him and protecting him from all the monsters in the world. Once at the lake me and my bro were catching grass snakes and I almost picked up a rattlesnake and he screamed at me and told me it would kill me etc. No fear before that but ever since them I am terrified of all snakes, even on t.v. When I was about 7 I ran over a half dead bull snake in front of our house and I dropped my bike and ran into the house screaming snake. My mom thought I had been bitten. My dad went out and saw that it was already half dead from a car I guess. He finished it off with a shovel and carried it up to the house to show me it was dead. Everyone was laughing but I was even more afraid of it then before. That is all my snake experience.

Well, in my experience, nature is very similar to mundane things.
Many people are afraid of snakes (or whatever) because of something which happens to them, or simply because of something they have heard (on TV, from others, etc).
I try to view it from a mundane standpoint, and often convey this view to others :
I am an ex police officer and have seen some nasty car accidents in which people were killed, mangled, dismembered, blah blah blah... I have also been in a few fender benders in which no one was actually hurt... after all I have read, seen, and even experienced, I still get in the old car every day. Why? Well, I need to for one. More importantly, I have had more positive experiences than negative ones.
To me, your incidents involving snakes were "fender benders" and you are not willing to "get in a car" because of them.
Where am I going with this? I don't really know, but it holds true for many of life's experiences.

Nice point Eaglewolf. I see that, yet I am not willing to get in the car just yet. So don't get me a pet snake for Valentine's day if thats what your thinking!!!

If you can associate it with something more important to you, other than my "car" analogy, you will overcome the fear faster than you think...

Perhaps...but why do I need to? Am I really missing something by avoiding snakes do ya think? I just ask because they do slide into my dreams as frequently as once a week. Maybe I am missing something or maybe just maybe they are here to simply help me get rid of this fear so that I might do the same with other fears????

Like that is for me to decide or understand. It is appearant you have some connection with them, and you did bring up snakes, so the thought is a dominant one... really, this is up to you.
On a side note, I really used this whole snake thing to bring out a point which can be applied to all fears, not just snakes ;)
