I was curious of the effects of drug abuse on the chakras and energies of our bodies. What happens to us on a spiritual level when we use drugs?

I read that chakras can be permanently damaged by drug abuse, is this true? I wouldn't think that something spiritual as a chakra could be damaged permanently. Maybe off-set, but damaged?

Has anyone ever suffered physical symptoms from damaged or un-balanced chakras? What can be done to correct the problem?

I can't see any sort of drug use causing any sort of permanent spiritual damage, and in my experience trained use of certain psychotropic substance can actually improve chakra flow.

That sort of thing sounds like the kind of anti-drug garbage that new agers like to put out. although I can see how severe drug dependence/abuse may cause problems, it's nothing that can't be fixed.

I don't think it's "new agers" that put this out, rather somebody that is looking at it from an extreme position, i.e. in terms of over use to the point of severe addiction. Can it be fixed? That really depends on the problem, how severe it is, and the person in question.
