I want to be more like the Queen of Wands.

http://www.learntarot.com/wqn.htm

I'm doing some work meditating on her, and I'm hoping enhance some of my better facets with those I associate with her!

Anyone else have a 'hero' in the Tarot they would like to emulate?

Mine is the Strength card in my Wheel of Change deck. When I first got the deck, I went through each card & when I got to the strength card, I knew it was my favourite without seeing the rest of the cards. As I continued on, I found another strength card. I was able to keep one in the deck & I carry the second one with me in a plastic sleeve. Here's a link for it that Silver found for me...

http://www.wheelofchange.com/Strength_Text.html

It also gives the excerpt explanation from the book. I love the strength & vitality that she represents. I had felt so much power radiating from that card.

Adjustment (Justice).
i'm very drawn to the idea of balance in ALL things, as well as being hopelessly Libra.

Hmm.... I think that would most likely be the Death.. :eyebrow: Just need a new beginning for myself right now. :dis:

The Empress. :)

She is so nurturing and serene, yet so full of life. These are qualities in me that I have bet need to be brought our more- esp. the serenity! I identify with her a lot and my patron is Demeter, so it all falls into place.

However, I use the Queen of Pentacles when and if I use a significator. Seems less presumptuous to be a Queen than an Empress. ;)

For me it would be the Magician. He seems to be calm and in control of his emotions as well as in command of the energies surrounding him. He also doesn't seem presumtuous, but one who makes decisions for himself based on his higher self.

I aspire to be that way, but I seldom succeed :(

Maybe some day :)

hmmm....that's a good question!

For court card, it would have to be the Queen of Wands as I see her as being creative, warm, bright, cheerful and strong.

For Major Arcana, I aspire to be the Sun. ....for the same reasons as stated above.

....or then again, maybe I fit this category and that is why I'm so drawn to them! ;)

... The High Priestess.

The calmness, serenity and poise - as well as the wisdom. Fat chance, at the moment - I talk too much, live my emotions like they are a roller-coaster and spend more time mucking up rituals than erfoming them with grace and ease! Oh well, I'll keep at it!

Hi everyone

This is a really cool question Nina :)

At the moment Id pass on my normal sun/star cards and cut to the chase ~ Judgement as I am striving to be more, for change, renewal, balance and decision making.
I havent been around here for the last two weeks because Ive been lacking in every one of those, been ill then just lazy and a bit of a hermit but now Im back (thanks to a mail from Dagda :)) and raring to go. Bring it on!

My favorite is also Strength. In the deck I use (Legend: Arthurian Tarot), there is a maiden riding on a lion clasping hands with a crone riding on a snake.

I love the intertwining of youthful power with the wisdom of age. I'd love to be that balanced and well-rounded.

I think from the whole deck I would aspire to be like the page of pentacles, I enclose a quote from one of my exercises in the tarot course I am taking at the moment,

ISFP - Introverted/Sensing/Feeling/Perceiving - Page of Pentacles
This type focuses on the needs of the moment and tries to meet them. Isabel Briggs Myers found this type to be one of only two who showed a strong preference for general medical practice over specialization. In today's world they might specialize in either internal medicine, family practice or emergency medicine. They also gravitate toward fields that require taste, a sense of beauty and proportion. They excel in craftspersonship and have a love of Nature, especially animals. They work well in fields that require both devotion to duty and adapability. Their shadow side tends to underestimate and underrate themselves."

I had to do a personality test and it said I resembled this card, so I leant over to pick up my tarot deck and the card on top was the page of pentacles spooky or what :bug:

hmm. in one sense i am Death and the Sun already, and will always love those two much, especially as they relate to runes. . . its hard for me to choose, to some extent, because i love many of the archetypes (to death and back). the ones im working with a lot right now is The Aeon/Judgement and the Star, but overall favorite i guess i would have to say the Tower. existential crisises are the best kinds of crisis, er something. i also like the Queen of Wands a lot though.

The Magician is probably the card that I aspire to be most like. I sometimes wish I was more like one card or another. Strength is one, Temperance is another. What I am and what I aspire to be are two different things. I am the Chariot or Empress.

I found this thread whilst digging around and I thought it might be interesting for a change rather than to hear what we each really are like maybe what we wish to be instead.

Personaly the Tower and I walk very close together but I'd like to be more like Temprance.

Good idea, Bethra!

I think I aspire to the HPS or the Hermit. They both remind me of: "to dare, to will, to know and to keep silent" all of which are difficult at different times for me. :)

I am the Queen of Cups through and through, but I'd like to incorporate more aspects of the Magician, that is, be a little more proactive in materializing what I want. I love the Star though. I don't always use a significator, but when I do, I use the Star for myself.

i can't really say that there is any one card i wish to "be like", as the archetypes of all the cards are found within us, and i aspire towards wholeness, not fragmentation. that's why we read with an entire deck. (although i have been frequently accused of not playing with a full deck, i think that's referring to something else.)

there are a few cards that are important to me now, or that reflect facets of myself that are currently catching the light or flashing from out of the shadows: the star has always been an important card for me, as has strength, and the sun has been gaining importance recently (either that or i've been listening to too many "george" beatles' songs...) but i wouldn't consider them anything i aspire to be, so much as the current teachers.

I suppose I'd like to be more like Strength and Justice. And what a coincidence--when I got my deck just now, I turned it face-up and saw Strength on the top.

I want to be like Strength, but I'm hoping more for mental strength than physical. I really want to be able to do things without putting them off from sheer laziness, and coupled with my constant forgetfulness, that's not a very good combination. I think being more like Strength would improve a number of things in my life, to be honest.

Justice is probably my idealism showing; I don't like it when people complain about being punished for things that they shouldn't have been doing in the first place, especially if it's something minor. Around last week, I heard one of my classmates telling her friends how our English teacher took her cell phone away, and by the gods it annoyed me.

Wow, tough question...I'd probably say The World, The Magician, and Temperance...very cosmic ^_^
