Well, its very hard to explain my religion. Its kinda Panthiesmish but with a guiding spirit that takes forms of all diiferent animals, representing different virtues and personalities. My question is does anyone know of some rituals that i could perhaps perform to communicate with said guiding spirit, right now i can only be contaqcted in sleep.
Any help would be appreciated
thx in advanced

..and if there is music that works for you to get in the zone--say you were walking and there's a form of music that makes you want to sing along and feel good. Or if there's drumming or flute or guitar music that makes you relax--not to sleep, but to relax your muscles and allow you to imagine or connect to creative ideas.
If you can clap, drum, play music or hum, that helps to get you in the 'zone' of relaxed awareness.
Some people will run or walk, do chores that involve repetitive movement and their minds will drift into creative thinking or connect to their inner guide.
Some people will write down in their journals in a dialogue format--writing questions and answers as if they were addressing an aspect of self or 'guide'. If you are only experiencing animal figures, it sounds like you will need to relax and experience connection in a different way than writing, though.
Hope the musical idea might help. If you know of a certain kind of music that might appeal--tribal, drumming, instrumental works for me.

Hummm.
Medatation. Visualizations. Some form of prayer. Just talking to the guiding spirit. Divination.
Maybe if you ask to interact outside of sleep you'll get just that-- communication outside of sleep. There's no harm in asking.
I can't think of any ritual though.

Sounds nifty. :D I just wanted to suggest some music that really gets me into a meditative, receptive state, and it helps me have more vivid dreams. I thought it might help you. :) Funny thing is that it is actually music from a video game remixed, Ecco the Dolphin to be exact. The second one is music from the last game in the series, Defender of the Future. Beautiful music, and I can suggest some specific tracks. :) You would think they are from a meditation cd, not a video game! :p
Both are from Caverns of Hope, an Ecco fansite.

Suggestions:
Aquamarine Bay
Perils of the Coral Reef
Passage from Genesis
Up and Down: Lakes
Atlantis Lost
Shrine of Controversy
Anguish of Dearth
Hanging Waters
Hope that helps! :hahugh:

Thank you so much, i will try to use music in my meditation, it is wierd i relax just fine, but as soon as i get into the numbness stage where it feels like your being removed from your body, a white light appears and i wake out of my trance. Within sleep however, I can communicate with these animal spirits.

Lots, though what works for someone else may not work for you. The best ritual is the one YOU make for yourself because it will have the most meaning.
That said, looking at what others do is a good idea :) So what are you comfortable doing? Can/do you meditate? what about a cauldron spell and ask for a reply in your dreams (since you say this happens already)? Do you do daily devotionals or blessing? Have you ever just sat down and TALKED?
Lots of options :) Start with what makes sense.

errr... maybe you can try Pink Floyd's instrumental songs (like Echoes, Any Colour You Like, Atom Heart Mother, Come In Number 51 Your Time Is Up) or Lorenna McKennitt...

Gitli,
The white light is most likely a good thing. You might find that your meditation has phases and the white light is an indicator that it's time to move into phase two (perhaps an indicator of an alpha-wave state). I would encourage you to allow the trance to break and then change things up a bit.
Some examples:
- if the white light hangs around, began using breath and mantra to become one with the light ("One...with the Light") until you work back into a trance.
-Or assume that the white light is a divine presence and take the time to become filled up with gratitude "Oh thank you (Lady, Lord, etc.). Thank you so much for being here with me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!". Then begin to let go again.
-Or become very receptive. Say "Thank you for your presence. I humbly receive your gift."
-Or become a servant. "I come to serve. I come to serve. I offer myself up to your service."
-(one last example!) In your mind, reach up. Feel yourself being drawn up the stream. "Lift me up. Hold me in your loving embrace"
Perhaps this second, deeper phase will offer you a chance to connect with your guiding spirit.

could you elaborate on how you currently meditate and more on this numb feeling you get?
