In Kemetic Orthodox faith is there a "parent", as they say, that is represented by either a duck, goose, or some other bird related to those two?

I ask this because as of late, I have been questioning my faith in all religions, I have abandoned my Christian faith a while ago, and have looked into fatihs such as Hinduism, Judism, Celtic, and many others. I had thought I found my true religion about 10 days ago, a mixture of Native American beliefs, such as animal spirits and how nature is part of us as we are part of nature. I embrassed this and discovered I had a bond with ducks and geese.

But something dosn't sit right, now. I seem lost, my recent dream has put many doubts in my mind, see thread http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=134427,
and what had originally brought me to my recent NA beliefs was, I believe, Yinepu. Might I accually not be part of a NA belief but rather an Eygptian God tried to give me a symbol to show me my true faith?

To confused for my own good I say. Any help is appreciated. Thx

Hi there, Gitli.

In the Kemetic Orthodox faith, almost every god or goddess can be a parent. And keep in mind that you don't have to be Kemetic Orthodox to practice the Kemetic religion.

Anyways, as far as Kemetic goose-gods go, there is Amun, a creator-god, who is sometimes represented by a goose. There is also Geb, the god of the earth, who wears a goose on his head-dress.

Hmm...that's all I can think of at the moment, but that might give you a start. And I think it's wonderful that you have a bond with ducks and geese. I love these types of birds myself. They are very intelligent, and they have interesting lives and social structures.

PM me if you ever want to.

Geb is the first God who came to my mind, his crown is often a duck, and that is how he is often shown. His name is written with a duck or goose glyph as well.

Also, I believe the word for son is written with a goose or is it a duck.. Maybe neither, and I'm mixed up with something else. :/

Amun :bouncybob:
Geb :)
The image of the goose is related to the creation: one of the tales says that Netjer was in this form on the first mound of land, and The Great Cackler cried out to commence creation.

*reads the dream again*
Also, Goddesses with Snake heads :) *tries not to go fangirl on you* has to do with the Ogdoad - Four Goddesses: Each with the head of a cobra. Four Gods: Each with the head of a frog.
Heh and Hehet - the God and Goddess of Infinity
Kek and Kekhet - the God and Goddess of Darkness
Nun and Nunet - the God and Goddess of the Primeval Waters
And *drumroll* Amun and Amunet - the God and Goddess of The Hidden Air.

Whose name you've already seen as associated with the Goose.

Ahem. Tee! I'll stop there.

The Goose is my favorite and most personal symbol of Amun, though, so I'm all kinds of excited when it comes up. heh. :woot:
