Can some-one please tell me which planet is Oriental in my chart? I think it's either my Mars or Mercury, but I'm not sure.

An oriental planet is a planet that is rising directly before the Sun. I've also seen it called "The Guiding Planet" or "Oriental Appearance." But it's a term that has fallen out of favor in the last few years (kinda like essential dignities!) Usually Mercury or Venus are the most common oriental planets as they never range more than a few degrees away from the Sun.
Shynes, your chart revolves clockwise, with your Sun is at 19 Taurus and Mercury at 4 Taurus, so Mercury is your oriental planet.

something new each day ... had heard the 'guiding planet', but never really knew about it! cool. thanks keishin ... i guess mine would be pluto ... located at 20 degrees virgo to my 23 degree virgo sun (tropically speaking).
found a lovely page on the whole topic ...

"... As a Oriental Pluto type, you may be painfully ahead of your time."
he doesn't know how painful ... 10 years later, people come back to me and say 'remember when ... well now ...." and just this year, i had reconciled with myself that my numerological cycle was simply one 'off' ... finally things were happening in this cycle that i felt should have happened in my last 9 year cycle. let alone always being so young and having things happen to me that should have never happened to one so young ....
interesting ... perhaps why my chart when cast in the sidereal zodiac works so much better for me ... especially when working with transits.
anyone else have experience/knowledge deeper or more advanced than the website provides?
