no, I didn't post it. Basically I put together a list of like 10 and then based on amazon ratings and recommendations others gave on here I picked a few. So far I've received the Complete Book of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland and both the Inner and Outer Temple of Witchcraft books by Penczak.

Any other suggestions on newbie books, especially if they tend to focus more on general paganism and not necessarily wicca (not a requirement though), are appreciated

Deb Lipp's "The Way of Four" is an excellent general Paganism book focusing on the elements. Another general one I like is Starhawk's "The Earth's Path". It also has a focus on the elements and mediation.

Sacred-texts.com

go there, read the free books, take what you want and apply it, ignore the rest.

Also you should hit mythology if you want to know about paganism.

I am reading Wicca for Life by Mr. Buckland and I must say that it has been pretty good so far. I am sure that his other books are pretty good.

My fav. author is Phyllis Curott I love her stories the most, she really talks about her experiences with Wicca.

I love the Inner, Outer and Shamanic Temple books by Penczak, even though he seems to use Wicca and Witchcraft as interchangable terms. I'm looking forward to expanding my library with more of his books, especially his new one on Instant Magic.

*wants to buy new books now* Have fun reading!

I'd suggest 'The Spiral Dance' by Starhawk. It's the first book I read on the practices of witchcraft, and I still refer to it.

If you're wanting to learn more about Dianic witchcraft, I'd recommend anything by Z Budapest (Grandmother of Time, Gradmother Moon) or Monica Sjoo (Great Cosmic Earth Mother). I also really enjoyed 'Drawing Down the Moon' by Margot Adler - it explains some of the many paths of pagansim.

I agree, it's a fantastic book. It is about religious Witchcraft in general, not just Wicca.

I was reading "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Paganism" in the bookstore and it looked really good. I would have bought it if I had money :p

Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft is an excellent book too, good choice!
