View Full Version : Do any of you ever feel like a slave to your house??

Not really a pagan topic, but I figured it might be okay in the just talk section. I hope it's alright. Sorry ahead of time if it isn't okay.

I am just having that kind of month. It seems that I am forever cleaning. Tiny pieces of this, laundry, vacuuming, etc....
Anyone else???

Hopefully I am not alone. I know it will get much better next year when both my sweeties are in school all day and I can have a "normal" work schedule again. (I run back and forth 3 times daily right now)

TIA for listening to me babble....

I live alone, well not exactly, I have three cats, but I have to do work every day to maintain my house and because I am in ill health it is like being a slave. I cannot do a lot of things that most people take for granted and I get tired easily.

Even though I do not go to a "job" every day it does not mean that people who stay at home and work in the home do not work.

Besides, I have 3 cats, all female, now, who do you think is in charge?

Many thoughts your way.

I am sorry. I didn't mean to imply that people who worked in the home and for the home, don't work hard. I hope I have not offended in any way. It wasn't my intention at all. I am just having one of those days and was bit down and really just needed to tell someone/ anyone who could read or listen, just so I could get it out.
Please forgive me. Take care of yourself, and that wonderful feline family.
You are right... with them all being females.... lol

(((hugs)))

Do not worry, you did not offend at all. I was in agreement with you that some days it does feel like slavery. :) THere was also the sort of joke posted that was agreedwith that trying to keep the house clean while children were around is like shoveling snow in a snow storm, or something like that.

You did nothing wrong, no worries.,

Have a nice chair and a glass of Lemonade. :)

I have 4 children and do not work out of the home. I don't have time I am constantly trying to get my house clean. There are days when I clean a room go to the next one look behind me and can't tell I cleaned the first one. It can get frustrating at times. I'm tossing stuff in the trash a lot lately because I just don't want to take care of it anymore.

What's that?

I live alone and no one come to visit. I think I have a vacuum in the closet somewhere.

I take out the trash and clean the kitty litter. Eat out of the microwave and use paper plates and plastic silverware.

No fuss, No muss.

The only thing I really have to clean is the bathroom.

:) I spread my household work out for different days
of the week, laundry, dusting, vacuuming, litter-box,
recycling, etc., so I don't burn out. :D

I worked in a motel for 6 years so I clean constantly out of habit, and usually don't realize it.

I posted the saying about
cleaning house while children are growing
is like shovelling snow while it is still snowing!!
Tee- hee
It is one of my absolute faves
so appropriate to everday life
I even have a magnet with that saying on the fridge..

Well, I am very happy to hear that I didn't step on any toes. :)
It is great to know that I am not alone, and that all of you can empathise with me on various levels.

Have a great day all. Don't spend too much time cleaning or we will never get to the boards to check in with the rest of this wonderful family! :)

As for that lemonade.... :( i don't have any in the house, but it is on my shopping list for tomorrow.

The best lemonade, IMHO, is just lemon slices in water with ice cubes ... :) ... makes shopping easy ... :) ... I just buy lemons ...

My Husband and friends look at me funny because that is the way I like my water! Bluecat it's nice to see someone else who likes it that way! I'm not alone or weird or maybe it's that we've both done government work.......
