Sooooo, do you think they will attract serious students, or
gawkers? I am betting on the gawkers.

Who knows. But those of us who wanted to see courses and certificates in witchcraft and healing should take this as a step in the right direction.

If done right, this could be a positive step in the right direction. Some of those topics sounds pretty interesting...even if they only teach it in a purely historical sense.

well, yes, it does sound like a good thing. It just kinda irks me, the whole "Harry Potter" thing and all. . . there were near as many people *seriously* interested in witchcraft before. . . but hey you never know ^^; could be a really good thing!

My question is HOW do they teach a course on it? Witchcraft is such a diverse subject. There is British traditional, Celtic (wiccan), Strega, Gypsy... and each have their own moral codes, traditions, correspondences, beliefs, etc. I imagine they'd need an exceptionally diverse curriculum and faculty!

Believe me. There are people out there that know them all well enough to teach a course like that. I was fortunate enough to have one as a teacher myself. :) You'd be amazed how much some people can cram into their skulls.

The University of Windsor (Ontario, Canada) has a Wicca and Witchcraft course. It's just a special interest course. I know a few people who are taking it but I haven't heard much about it.

I've seen the text though.
