to get right to the point- i feel like my house is being magickally staked out. lately, i've been having these dreams, nightmares really. over the past few weeks i have been having dreams where i have been physically restrained to the point where i have little or no control over my own body and my mind is being screamed to be let out. it feels as though someone else is trying to get inside of me. the most recent occasion happened in a place that seemed clearly to be a mirror realm. it was my room in shades of grey in real time, but without any of the features of my room in terms of furniture except for my bed. the orientation of everything was exact and i was very aware of where and who i was.
an entity was keeping me in the realm, forcing my body rigid. the entity was spiritual and had a malignant alignment from what i could tell- it intended me harm. this entity was trying to force my mind into submission in order to possess my body.
on the other side of the room was another bed and a being in it whose help i sought. however, with no motor control all i could do was scream through a closed mouth and shout psychically. this being turned out to be my good friend who heard me call his name while he was awake a good ten miles away, however he could not get to me in the dream state or otherwise.
luckily it was a hot night and my roomie had arisen to get a drink of water. she heard light moaning come from my room and stood in the doorway to call my name. apparently i was actually able to open my mouth for the last thing i said- a quiet 'help.'
i have been reading books on psychic self defense and its ilk, but i feel it time to ask for advise from people who may be more practiced than i.
what am i to make of this? it has happened repeatedly under circumstances with no obvious connection and not under enduring stress- so the possibilty the it is due to psychological duress seems remote. if these are planned attacks, and it is not my imagination that feels too-curious eyes watch me and my apartment, then what measures do i take?
i do not look forward to having to deal through another of these attacks again, so any advice you could proffer would be most welcome.

maybe you should cleanse and purify your home and make protection amulets for your doorways and windows, get some protection stones and burn protection incense as well
it sounds scarey, maybe you should try to think about who may do that to you and address the source
if you want some more info on how to do protection cleansing etc..feel free to PM me if you want

I think I was meant to read this thread - I wasn't even planning on coming to MW at the moment (I'm in the midst of doing some work - but decided suddenly to take a quick break and come to the forum). Saw your thread titled 'protection' and immediately came in (hard to explain, but normally, that kind of title wouldn't catch my eye right away).

Anyway - the point is that I think I can help. I think you're confusing what you're experiencing... thinking an entity is trying to enter you and so forth, everything you described about the way the room looked and the presence in your room, trying to psychically scream for help... finally being able to *actually* whisper/mouth 'help' to your roommate and so forth... ALL of this put together is extremely familiar to me, because it's ***astral travel***. Except you aren't astrally traveling... you're getting "stuck" prior to "lift-off" so to speak. I'll explain.

First of all, I want to stress that I do NOT recommend astral travel. This is probably an upopular thing to say here, LOL, because I know a lot of people work on doing it. It's kind of funny (to me, anyway) because here I am - a Christian who doesn't do any sort of magic, doesn't engage in any occult practices, *nothing* - and is extremely *ordinary.* I'm just Christian, a solid, plain-old-Christian. (Celtic Christian as you can see by my info at the left side.) However, I have had a LOT of astral travel experience - and I never initiated ANY of it. It was sort of forced on me.

My problem has been that I will astral travel accidentally - because something/someone has "forced" me (for lack of a better term), and once it happened the first time, I began having terrible problems with it afterward. At one point, it was happening nightly. Eventually I had to learn how to resist, and it is a real, real struggle. Plus, it's terrifying. The experience you described sounds like what it's like just before "lift off" and/or just after "returning." The visuals you described are extremely familiar. What always gets me is how strange the lighting looks. (It's even weirder during the astral travel part of it. I hate it, it's creepy.)

My best suggestion is to keep doing as you're doing. Resist it. If you suddenly begin to feel like your body is vibrating (it usually begins as light vibration, then gets extremely powerful), you're close to actually traveling at that point...

So at that point I would suggest that you try to stop the 'cycle' by concentrating as hard as you can on moving a part of your body... a small part is probably all you'll be able to manage, with much effort, because you'll be physically unable to move (normal sleep paralysis. Everyone's body "paralyzes" during sleep; it's normal. Except that when you happen to be awake when paralysis hits, or you wake up during the process, it's terrifying).

You will have to try as hard as you can to move a finger, try to lift your hand slightly, try to kick your leg, maybe try to wiggle your toes, anything. It doesn't have to be a big movement. Just concentrate on it, and as soon as you can manage to do it, immediately your body will become normal again and you'll start to be able to move, the vibrations will stop, and so forth. You should also mentally - and with determination in your mental 'voice' - say something like, "NO, I'm not doing it" or "Stop now." Whether you'd be mentally saying it to an entity, or to your bedroom walls and yourself alone - is beside the point. If someone/something *is* responsible for these situations, it wil give them the message; if not, it will be a clear indicator to *yourself* that you don't want to do it (meaning that if it's some psychologically created situation, you would be mentally telling your subconscious self to knock it off). Either way, it's the thing to do.

As a Christian, I handle it by also praying. It's actually the easiest thing for me to do and it works right away. The problem is remembering to do it because of being so scared!

If you happen to find yourself astrally traveling (for instance, if you go from the can't-move-and-scary phase to the vibrations phase extremely fast, and suddenly you're off on travels), don't freak out. Just try to calm down, and if you want to return, just think "I'm going back now" or similar words, and you'll immediately return. In fact, if you *wanted* to keep traveling it might be difficult if you accidentally THINK about returning, because any thought of home or your bed or whatever tends to make you suddenly zoom back and slam into bed again.

Anyway, those are my thoughts. I suppose that if you feel like there are things happening physically that worry you, it would be a good idea to tell your doctor; who knows, there could be something medical going on. I'm certainly not an expert - I'm just basing this on my own experience.

(Incidentally, after about seventeen years - approximately - of having problems with the astral travel situation, eventually it completely ended after it dawned on me that I should have a chat with God about it. Now I don't have to deal with it at all; the initial vibrations and so forth stopped, so I don't have to worry about any of that now. The only way it would happen now would be if I decided to deliberately travel astrally, which would mean I'd have to get myself into the vibration stage on purpose. But I don't have to worry about being "forced" out anymore, thank goodness!)

Google Sleep Paralysis.

You've just described it perfectly.

It's VERY common. I experience it as well. It is frightening, and annoying as hell, but harmless.

I wanted to chime in this was my first thought as well. However, while sleep paralysis may, in and of itself be harmless, the stress and etc. it can cause may not necessarilly be so.
