its just words on a paper that hold no vibration of its own,but the picture thats painted by the words that are written conveys ideas and intent that
can be explored.
personely ive always "written",my spells out by drawing pictures, not the best
way to pass on occult knowledge to another, but then i dont do it for others.

Originally and currently in certain traditions (eg Gardnerian, Alexandrian) you are meant to copy out your BOS by hand. Honestly I do have one version to print off, mainly because the combination of candlelight and my handwriting can be a bit dodgy at the best of times! :D

I don't see it as a 'transfer of energy', it is a tool like many other things and what you do with it is what matters. I must admit that doing it on the PC does keep things neater! Although it is nice to have something handwritten - at the end of the day, if you're not within a tradition etc that specifies things to be handwritten it is entirely up to you how you write up/organise your grimoire and there shouldn't be any problems in putting it in the PC - just remember to keep a backup in a safe place (preferably the 'safe place' that you actually remember where it is) ! ;)

I'm against BOS's kept on a computer, or typed up and glued into the BOS. I think somethings need the personalized touch that a computer can not give. I don't mind keeping a back-up copy I suppose, (i dont do it but I see why people might) but the real deal should be a book.

Currently mine isn't all that big, but what I do have I keep both a handwritten book and a 'book' on the computer as a backup (never know when something might happen to one or the other)

It's also easier, for me at least, to attach any pictures or other reminders to an actual book than a file on the pc.

i think it is personal choice really. i mean yeah it would be nice if it is handwritten and all that but it can also be as nice doing it on the computer. i havent really got one myself, all i do have is a notebook which i write down a spell which i have done, things i used etc. i also write in it results of a tarot reading or tea leave reading, things like that. i dont collect them and write them down just incase.
but in my opinion your book of shadows can be just as nice on your computer as it is handwritten.

I began my Book of Shadows, in a Word Document on my home PC, which I then printed off and place in 3 ring binder, which I have decorated. My Book of Shadows, has now grown from one binder to five of them. I see no problem in keeping your Book of Shadows on the computer ... after all times have changed. Besides, I for one have horrible handwritting. Computerized fonts are so much prettier.

To each their own. There are benefits to both. You could do both. Keep it on your computer and put the stuff in your BOS which seems most important and right to you. That way you don't end up with a bunch of clutter in your written BOS but still have all the other info saved somewhere.

I go with what is most convenient at the time. Typing usually is or quick handwritten notes on scrap paper to get the most info down at once. Then I review it and copy it into my BOS, making changes (additions or removals) as necessary. Works well for me. I don't keep an electronic BOS though.

I have both. I use my written one in circle (if I need too), and have a back up of all my ritual and noted on my computer as typing is much easier to edit. My writen BOS is more for 'sentimental value' at this stage than anything else, as most of what I do comes from the top of my head anyway and I don't follow 'procedure'.

I have many notebooks... a few just for random thoughts I'd like to dicuss, or remember to reseach into at a later date.. little ideas for drum beats, chants or sometimes little sketches of what I see. I have one for massage/healing. One started for herbs.

I draw a lot in my BoS (the sentimental one) along side what I write, and it is in the process of becoming decorated like a leather bound tome (its a huge binder in reality) and I only write on parchment-like paper, not bleached. Because I take so much care in it's presentation (in hopes of it being passed down to my children), most of my notes and rituals I have typed into my computer for safe keeping while I take my time copying them into the binder.

I've often been known to print off a spell, and then after having done said spell, noting down the changes to wording, spell ingredients etc and then putting the notes back into my Book of Shadows as is, with a reminder to fix it up on the computer and reprint ... which invariably doesn't happen.

I have several contents pages, with notes of things to add and delete ... as it is, I have yet to include a contents page for my Book of Shadows ...
