Hi everyone, Em Hotep! Happy New Year!!
For those who would not mind, it would be interesting and probably appreciated by many if you could share pictures of your naos, altar area or shrine.
It may help those who are new to set up an area for themselves and interesting for those of us who already have to see all the variations that exist.
Please let me know what you think.

This is my main shrine in my appartment.
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i227/Duwayitheru/DSC00125.jpg
At the left is a statue of Ra, with candle infront of Him, and an orange gem at His feet.
To the right of Him is a pot which I use as a symbol of Nut. I also keep prayers in it. There is a blue gem infront of the pot, which reminds me of Nut.
A lotus wall hanging which I wove on a bead loom.
Next is Heru-sa-Aset on a box of offered gems. A soapstone holder with solid perfume is also infront of Him.
Next is a feather to represent Shu, and a clear/white gem infront of that.
To the right again is an ankh, and a cup for liquid offerings.
Last, is a soapstone incense stick burner.
On the shelf below the main shrine are other items which come into play.
http://s73.photobucket.com/albums/i227/Duwayitheru/?action=view¤t=DSC00124.jpg&refPage=20&imgAnch=imgAnch35
Bowls, vase, bottle for liquids, a place to put matches. A wax melter, for when my fiance is home (incense smoke and smell bothers him a lot), another stick incense holder, some states, and a Bast cone incense burner.
Since I don't have a lot of space in my apartment, the bookcase actually had to hold books too. ;) So I choose to keep some of my religious texts there, though most are on the bottom shelf. Also a box of important things to me.. pictures and the like.
My new addition..
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i227/Duwayitheru/sistrum.jpg
I am thinking of also getting a drum for in shrine, and a sort of rattle. I also have a wooden frog which makes sounds like ribbit, and a tin whistle. I find the Names enjoy music. :)

Also, since I travel a lot I have a carry along shrine.

Set up.
http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i227/Duwayitheru/DSC00215.jpg
It's small and great for easy travel. It isn't much, but it is a comfort when I'm away from home. The basket also carries a bottle of natron, matches, and a few other interesting items. I am thinking of making a tiny sistrum for it as well.
I do have a nice naos back at my grandparents' house, very beautifully done, was a birthday gift. No pictures though. :( When I am off the road again, and have a few months at the apartment, I have plans to make a Naos featuring Nut. :)

THank you for posting the lovley pic of your naos. Everything is so lovingly placed. I especially love the feather that you added for Maat and the beaded lotus, what beautiful touches.
Thanks again for posting. I hope others will follow.
When you get a chance to photograph your other shrine, I am sure people would love to see it.

Shu, actually. ;) The feather moves with the slightest movement of the air, so it is a good reminder of Him, His personality.
I have nothing specifically for Ma'at on the shrine, because I prefer to use prayer beads to connect with her. :)

I've got to say i love your shrine, it's really cool :).
Hopefully when i can actually start the Kemetic class, maybe i'll set up a shrine or something (or when i figure out what path i'm supposed to be on, LOL!).

So far, I see through the pictures posted already that all of your altars are so lovingly done.
Netjer must be pleased with all the love and care that has gone into your sacred areas!

Hotep ya'll!
I still haven't found time to do my main shrine - since I want to rearrange the bedroom at the same time. heh.
But here are pics of what it looks like now, and pics of what my living room (informal) shrine looks like. :)

Bast-Mut's and Amun's section and favorite offerings (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g317/neheti/Shrines%20and%20Offerings/581f63e6.jpg)
Everyone's things look so nice.
I have an ostrich feather in mine, but it's hiding against my pale apartment white walls. :p and there's a painting of Bast and Amun on the far wall now that I finished for Wep Ronpet. :)
The photobucket account also has close-ups of the statues Nebra did for me, and a drawing of Mom and a collage of Akhu I did that are in their respective shrines.
The new painting of Bast and Amun (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g317/neheti/Art%20n%20such/amunherbast.jpg) sits behind Amun and Bast now.
*shrug* it'll be better soon.

Wow, you certainly have a lot of dedicated space for the Netjer and statues galore!
Your artwork is lovely. I really like the way you did your Aakhu shrine. I can't get over the affection that has gone into all the shrines posted here!
Z, can you get some close ups of the work Nebra did for you? She is a wonderful artist and I would love to see what she created for you, if you can.
Also, you have a picture above the very tall Bast statue that I could not make out very well, did you paint or draw it?
You have really gone out of your way to create some very great spaces for Netjer, I bet they are very happy in your abode.
Thank you for posting. I have enjoyed your pictures!

Why thank you, Fortuna - Its really not that much space, I've had to be very creative. heh.
Behind the big Bast are two works: one is a primitive self-portrait I did in my very first painting class and the other is a drawing of a plump nude woman lounging on a riverside which I named Aphrodite. :D
Well... they're hidden now by that new painting.
The only close-up of Amun I have (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g317/neheti/Shrines%20and%20Offerings/b00b0e30.jpg)
Bast (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g317/neheti/Shrines%20and%20Offerings/5e56f102.jpg)
HetHert (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g317/neheti/Shrines%20and%20Offerings/e79e1cff.jpg)
HetHert's really hard to capture on film - its as though Her statue moves at the last second. heh.

Hi Zephyrstorm,
Thank you for the additional pictures. Your work is really wonderful, such feeling in your style. I teach art, and I must say that you have done some extremely nice work.
You certainly have a lot of Nebra's work. She is very talented as well. What an eye for detail she has and I understand that she is very reasonable. Her work is certainly worth it, isn't it? The feet and hands are such difficult areas to make look right and she did such a nice job. They are all beautiful, how fortunate you are to have them.
Lots of love there for Netjer!
Thank you again for going to the trouble to post the photos, I have certainly enjoyed seeing your work and hers.

:) Divination will do that, won't it???!!!
I got Sekhmet's statue, drew pictures of her, carved her image in concrete, built her a naos, bought her book, etc. Fun isn't it?!!
Enjoy your practice, it sounds like you are learning a lot and having a good time. That is the best isn't it? !!!

Very lovely shrines/alters/naos everyone! How wonderful to see. I enjoyed looking at everyone of them.
Well, I have this empty space down in my basement and decided to make a Temple down there, so I have been painting on my walls off and on for this past year. It is not finished yet but it is decent enough to take a look at. I have a Shrine dedicated to HetHert and others. I would not consider myself a Kemetic Traditionalist....so I apologize ahead of time for making any-one's skin crawl for lack of accuracy or anything along those lines.
I made both a virtual Temple for Hathor as well as my at home Temple.....
Virtual Temple (which also leads you to my at home one).

I am so happy that you published the pictures of your shrine!! What Beautiful work! I think we all hope that someday we can have a wonderful room dedicated just for our shrines and, indeed, make them our temples.
The ambience and art work, the lovely altar! It is like something out of the past. What a wonderful achievement and heartfelt gift for HetHert!!
I am hoping that if you have not already posted these to the Kemetic Faith group at Yahoo, that you will do so soon. I would love for everyone to see how beautiful this is. I am certain House of Thoth will be especially pleased with your Egyptian flavored shrine.
Thanks once again for posting, and I hope that you will keep us updated with pictures. I think this is great inspiration for all of us. Won't it be great if you decide to have ceremonies at some time so that you can share this wonder with others.

Em Hotep La Fortuna,
Thank you for your kind words.
I think I will wait a little bit before I post pics over on the Kemetic Faith group....let the temple progress a little further. Actually it already has but the last time I took pics, I just did not have the ability with me to take decent photos; I will give it another try in awhile. I also think there are some aspects to the Temple that might not be correct and I do not know enough about the Kemetic Faith, that I do not want to, uh, unwittingly make a misinformed visual.
As for future ceremonies....I live in a new location and pretty far out in the country so, I'm not sure about that happening, though we might have a visitor or two that might be interested.....for the most part it is for me and my Husband to go into to meditate, play music, worship and make offerings. I also create in there sometimes and take naps.
I love the files over there in the Kemetic Faith Group, I printed them out to have in my Temple.
I loved your shrine too!!!!

Hi Rain,
If you are looking for guidance in matters of temple arrangement, Bob at House of Thoth has a great deal of experience in this area. His experience is just one of the resources that we are lucky enough to have at our group.
Also, Rosemary Clark has two books The Sacred Magic of Ancient Egypt and The Sacred Tradition of Ancient Egypt. She writes a great deal about the sacred space and temple architecture, etc. I believe they can be easily found on Amazon.
I hope that you will take advantage of either or both resources as I am sure you will find much value in both of them.
Please feel free to post what you wish on the group site. I trust your judgement. We are all learning and you are doing a great job. I hope that you never feel that your insights or experiences are not welcome, because they are more than welcome and certainly valid. Everyone experiences Netjer and the Kemetic faith differently. All have value.
Thank you for the pics that you posted here!!

I took these photos back in Feb now my Bast shrine has a matching candle holder and a Ralph Lauren Romance BPAL imp. :) I had to throw away the glass bowl because it cracked from the weight of the stones. Here's my shrine to Anubis (can't pronounce his Kemetic name). I don't have a white cloth or a cabinet for him yet but I'm planning on getting one. Also I sort of spilled oil onto my cloth so the stain that you see is it. Hope you like.

Why is he all wrapped up?
He's dressed for the day. The Ancient Egyptians dressed the god in fine clothing, applied make-up, things like that. I'm following what their doing. I'm going to get different cloth for Anubis and another bolt of cloth so that I can replace the oiled one. I accidentally spilled oil on the cloth.
