This is a request from a High Priestess here in Texas. I'm posting this here in hopes that we can raise some beautiful energy toward the cause. I'm asking for any and everyone who supports the pursual of peace in these precarious times to join in a chant and light a candle either personally or using our Candle Alter here on mysticwicks. I'm copying the plea she sent out to her fellow pagan sisters and brothers.
We live in a very unstable world right now. I am not a political activist but I urge all of us to offer daily prayers for peace. Recently, thirty-three pagans chanted for peace and Israel halted their military actions for 12 hours. I believe our prayers helped that happen. Imagine what could happen if 33 million people were praying for peace.
Pluto is in the last few years of its transit through Sagittarius (it enters Capricorn at the end of 2008). Pluto transforms by devouring and regurgitating whatever it touches. It is rarely a pleasant experience. During Pluto’s transit of Scorpio, AIDS entered our culture to force us to accept responsibility for our sexual choices.
Pluto’s transit through Sagittarius has helped us as pagans. Sagittarius rules religion and as Pluto has moved through it paganism has gained more acceptance as a “valid” religion. Now we are being reminded of the ugly side as Pluto exposes religious hypocrisy. It exists on all levels, within all religions, within each of us. Pluto is making it more obvious to see within the current military conflicts but it is a message we need to take personally.
It’s easy to blame the politics of a situation or governments or the “other guys”. But peace starts within each of us. We have to want it. We have to live it. I’m not asking you to gather signatures. I’m not asking you to protest. I’m not even asking you to vote. I’m asking you to pray. Ask the Gods to give us peace.
The chant we’ve been using is: Heal Mother, Mother Heal. Peace Father, Give Us Peace. The words are not as important as the desire we hold in our hearts to live in peace. It takes a lot of energy to cease personal conflicts. It takes a lot more energy to cease warfare. It requires acknowledgement and thanks for peace wherever it can be found. Give thanks for the peace you create within your own life. Give thanks for the peace you find within your community. Give thanks for any peace you see in the world. The more peace is celebrated, the easier it will be to find.
May your life be touched by peace.

Her words herald a truth that not many of us often think about on a daily basis but perhaps if we could do so, we could effect a change in the world around us both near and far. Please help with whatever you can. Your energies and prayers will not go unrewarded. :hugz:
Thanks to all who participate...
