I'm trying to figure this out - I keep getting the weirdest feeling that I should know something about a pairing of deities. See, it's like. . . . a brother and sister, twins. And I have the urge to find out more about them! But I don't know a name, or anything.
So I was wondering. . . has anyone ever heard of gods like this? I have no clue what pantheon, either. . . but I think I'd know the names when I heard them.
my brain gets confusing @_@;

Some twin deities -
Freya and Freyr.
Artemis and Appolo.
Horus and Set.
Luna and Satyrn.
Icharo and Xerecon.
Fiachra and Conn.
Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl.
Shu and Tefnut.
Grian and Aine.
Agni and Indra.
Izanagi and Izanami.
Romulus and Remus.
Gilandas and Morildas.
Not all are brother/sister but I figured that's a start.

When you mentioned that the gods are twins, I immediately thought of Apollo and Artemis. Their parents are Zeus and Leto. I think of these two twins as opposites, since Apollo is associated with the sun, and Artemis is associated with the moon. Maybe this information helps.

Castor and Pollux?
it seems like all those old Gods and Goddesses were brothers and sisters, as well as lovers.
hmmmm... maybe Mt. Olympus was in Arkansas?

LOL I guess that gods don't have to worry about the genetic problems of inbreeding. . . hey, whatever makes Zeus happy is the law of the land! ^_~
hmm interesting. . . *thoughtful look* . . . ;)

lol. yeah, I guess that the gods don't have to worry about things such as inbreeding. I suppose that they get with their relatives, so they keep the power in the family- kind of like royalty once did. However, the gods such as Zeus had to face the wrath of others.
