Plus the works of James Gleik,Paul Davies,Edward Lorentz,Niels Bohr,Gary Zurkov,yadda yadda yadda.
I practice sigilization on a regular basis.

Personally,I despise the term "magic".Everytime I meet someone who says they are a "mage",I always ask them where they keep their 20-sided dice.

I prefer the term "chaos and quantum metaphysics" much better.

I have been Banned from a lot of Message Boards because of the type of Celtic Paganism that I practise, which has a Japanese Twist to it.

I have found that there are some Pagans who still can not get their Heads Past the Opinion that we are not Created in a Godlike Image. There needs to be another option on this poll. I don't see any buttons for me up there. I want a button that quotes Dorian Grey from the "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" movie. Having been shot several times the bullet holes just simply close up the bad guy turns to DG and says "WTF are you?" Dorian turns and flashes him a smooth smile saying "Me? I'm complicated". I wants a poll button that says that so I can click it.

Chaos = confusion and disorder - so yeah, I'm sorta a chaos magician because I don't plan my magic and do by-the-book rituals or follow the "rules" of magic such as doing certain works on certain days and using certain herbs and certain colored candles. Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I can't help (enjoy) it.

Personally, I feel there's a wide enough distinction between Chaos Magic and Discordianism to warrant Chaotes their own forum. Maybe I have a fundamentally different view on it, I dunno, but to me it's a deconstruction of and analysis of magical practice, reducing it to the bare minimum elements for achieving results. Also, it seeks to push boundaries and utilize and test these abstracted techniques in varied contexts, both traditional and non-traditional contexts. (NOTE: It is not Eclecticism, because Eclectics still contain dogmatic beliefs regarding truths and Truths, while Chaos Magic, IMO, stresses a form of objective freedom from these.) Its focus is primarily magical practice, and to assume that it has to do with Chaos in a metaphysical sense, I feel, is a misnomer for the most part. It does not, IMO, say the world is Chaos. It merely represents simplification and a certain amount of relativism.

That said, some Chaotes are decidedly Discordian (and some are Wiccans and so on). Just as some Discordians are Chaotes. However, not all Chaotes are Discordians, and not all Discordians are Chaotes. Therefore, Chaotes have an element of divisionary independence. That said, I believe that though Eris may or may not indeed be the one and true goddess, and she may or may not have fingers in all pies at once (whether they be Wiccan, Bureaucraticians, or Cabages), these pies are still different pies to us laymen. Therefore Chaotes and any other group are not necessarily Discordian (even though Eris knows better). If we reduce them to Discordianism, why not any other path? We could just have one big giant Discordian forum. Hell, we all know everyone serves Eris one way or another....if she's the one and true goddess and all, which may or may not be the case.

All that said...I'm still a complete nub.
