I am loathe to ask for help since I haven't really been a regular participant in many forums here lately, but I need a bit of energy if it could be spared. I went to work yesterday morning and was "let go" due to "restructuring." I've sent out dozens of resumes and I am hoping that something comes along soon.

I'm not desperate yet, just poor with no income and heck, if someone could send a bit of help to get Flyzilla out of my car I'd appreciate that, too. The spawn of satan is STILL stuck in my back window, although dead, still unnerving. Damn insects. I even tried to suck him out with the power vacuum at the car wash, but that endevor was unsuccessful. Ugh.

Being you was let go through no fault of your own, you are entitled to alot of benefits.

you can file for Unemp and you will get it within 10 days...
also, Im pretty sure you qualify for training, which means the state will pay for you to go to school to help you become more hireable..

In NJ they give you $5,000 to go to any school in the state.
and there is also a tuition waver program...

I did some research for you...

here is a link to the MI dept of labor, you can file your unemp claim online and get the ball rolling (so you dont have to wait in line downtown)

you can also get prescription / medical coverage for you and your son through the state untill you go back to work THEY PAY FOR EVERYTHING..

I went to an interview this morning that went really well. I have an interview tomorrow at 2 pm with a realtor's office. I set up another interview with a different company for Monday. The mojo is working!
