so in the news they're discussing making a mammoth/ elephant hybrid.
might need it if we have another ice age.
but anyhew they have frozen sperm and are taking dna from frozen mammoths
they plan to put a fertilized ova into a female elephant, the mammoths closest living relative and let her come to term.
Then they will breed the offspring with elephants, and ouila a kinda mammoth
they were talking about having them in scotland..
bit jurassic park eh?
not sure how this'd work and because there's so little dna difference there's no possibility of mules they think..
and if mammoths r huge can an elephant carry it to term wouldn't it be too big?
or will they cross it with an elephant first?
