 My cat is scared of the flushing toilet though she could be mezmerized by it. Its a strange combination of terror and curiousity.

When I was about 15, we had a cat that was fascinated by the toilet. If he saw somebody heading for the bathroom, he'd run like hell to try and get in there with them. Once they were finished, he'd perch on the top of the toilet tank and watch the water swirl around. He never did figure out how to flush it, though.

My cats like to watch too.... thank the Gods they haven't figured out how to flush! How in the world are they going to fix that problem?

Well, one solution might be to put the toilet lid down so the cat can't watch...
My cat loves to watch the water, too. And, as other people have said about their cats, fortunately he can't figure out how it works.

my cats don't flush, thankfully, although one of them will occasionally pee in the toilet, which is a strange sight, although apparantly not too uncommon...

I made the attempt to toilet train our cat once. It was going quite well, until the morning she fell in.
