How do you know if ..

How do you know if the Discordian path is for you? Did you feel something pull you towards it? How did you get confirmation that it was the right path for you?

The reason I ask is after being spiritually disconnected and feeling somewhat dead for the past year and a half. I am at a point where you can say that I have finally woken up and I am working towards reconnecting with myself on all levels.

And one of those things that has arisen again is the draw, or attraction I feel towards the Discordian path. Which I actually first started learning about back in 2004 when I was doing and essay on spiritual traditions for my web site.

So I do not know what will become of this attraction that I have to this path. Or if whether this is just another pit stop in my life’s journey or if this is finally the path I am suppose to be on.

Anyways that is the reason for the questions. Now I need to get to sleep.

If you have to ask, then it probably is, only a Discordian would want to walk on this path. :hehehehe: I felt compelled, repelled, expelled and I ran out of rhymes pretty quick huh :spaceman: When I realised there were a bunch of crazy people out there that didn't always react to me the way most of the rest of the people I have encountered all my life have. It isn't a whiny no one understands me I'll go off with these weirdos kind of thing either. It is more of a like wow man, there are other weirdos out there and they have had some of the same things happen to them. Like getting in trouble for reading books instead of doing their chores. Or getting in trouble at Sunday School for asking who Cain married and suggesting it was indeed his sister.

The working on yourself thing is cool, the waking up is cool. You will find support for that in the Discordian community, but it may not always be the kind of support you think you want, but it will almost always be the kind you need. It might be the kick in the pants kind of support. People looking for hugs no matter how badly they screw up are usually disappointed and get hurt feelings if they go to Discordians expecting sympathy. People who need sympathy will find it in abundance, along with a heavy dose of laughter, because laughter really is the best medicine.

Seriously though, most of the writings of Discordia are on the internet, there isn't any dogma, except to not have dogma, there aren't any rules, except that there are no rules, and lots of other things that seem to not make any sense on the surface of it, but that makes sense deep down, except when they don't.

None of us ever know which part of our path is a part that is permanent and which part is a stepping stone to something else. Walk the path that feels most comfortable to you and you will end up wherever it is you are supposed to be. Not 'supposed to' like should or thou shalt or any of that, but just the place that is right for you.

Discordianism is like Leprosey. You don't really have to ask if you have Leprosey, when parts start falling off you KNOW you have Leprosey, and it sticks with you for the rest of your life. No matter what.

Once things start falling out of your psyche, and people start to look at you and scream, "Unclean!" Then you will know that you are, in fact, a Discordian.

Once you begin to question why the Giraffe, the Platypus, the Hyena, and why socks disappear in the dryer, then you are probably a Discordian.

If you start laughing at truely inappropriate times, durring things like funerals, classes, and on the train while communting, you' are a Discordian.

When you realize that if you told most people what you're thinking, they would run screaming until they died, you're a Discordian.

If you believe that the Govt. (TM) is out to get you, and that YOU WILL GO DOWN FIGHTING, SOLDIER, then you're a Discordian.

And, if there's something about Phlegm that intrigues you, you're a Discordian.

Other signs and symptoms include:
Dodging Hurricanes
Making People Cry
A strange and scary smile
A lack of respect for the rules
The ability to talk to White Mice, Cockroaches, and Bowling Balls
Rage. LOTS OF RAGE, BITCH!
An inability to sit still
Among others!

If you have any of the preceding problems, DISCORDOLAX may be right for you!

Ask your mental health provider if DISCORDOLAX is right for you!

Why socks dissappear in the dryer. Well this is one I question often with my new socks and have done so for many years. Even more so when I watched an epsidoe of ISS which was all about where the socks that go missing wind up...
