ok my friend fixed me up with this guy...but right now we are just friends
and probably will stay like that... but i have a question...
ok he mumbles things and i swear he mumbles bad things but was wondering if some people just have a sense of humor like that and they mean no ill will???
for example today he called and i said i was in the bath relaxing and i swear he said "that's too bad" then when I said "what?" he said "I said I'm glad"
has anyone known people like this??? is this just their sense of humor or
is there ill will there???
there are other things I have thought I have heard him mumbling and
one time when we were hanging out when I turned around he threw little
plant seeds at my butt and when I turned around he put his hands behind his back and was laughing
so are some people just silly like this or do you think this guy means me harm???
and one time in the car I thought I heard him whisper , "I hate you" to me
and when I confronted him he said he was breathing heavy and yawned and that's
why it sounded like that.....
so even if he did say it.... are some people's senses of humors that strange without
meaning any ill will????

Sure people can have a strange sense of humor, but no one knows this persons intent but him!!! Talk to him.

an episode about what??????????????
please explain???????????
about people who speak low or under their breath. Kramer was going out with a woman who did this and Jerry couldn't hear her so he yes'd her every time she said something.
Turns out he unwittingly agreed to where "the Puffy shirt" on national tv. Needless to say Jerry was embarassed.

I believe so. There are some people who throw around the "H' word casually to mean something like "i don't agree with you" or "I don't like what you said". People have said it to me and have meant it in jest.
I personally don't use the "H" word, to me, were I to use it, it would be because I truly felt that way.
But yes, some people have that sense of humor.

CheshireEyes, thanks for your advice....
I really appreciate your replies...
are there any other episodes or shows that I can watch to see this
sense of humor so I can understand it??
it's really new to me and I've been around awhile
he had said the "I hate you" when he was really hungry and I had been in a store
chatting with an old friend of mine for about 45 minutes and he had to wait around

I have a similar sense of humor, especially with the "I hate you" thing. Example: Me and an ex were talking about how we could still be good friends. He said "I hate you", and laughed, then I said, "I hate you too." It's our silly way of saying we really care about each other, no matter what. :) Perhaps that is what your friend is saying.

ok hun, i can buy that... but why would he say it so i couldn't hear it??
and i wasn't in direct eye contact with him either at the time he said it

My husband does this all the time and it drives me nuts. Perhaps that's why he does it!
He says he doesn't mean any harm but I figure if you can't say something nice....and if it's worth saying, it's worth saying to your face.
Sometimes he does it for fun and sometimes he does it when he wants to fire one last shot but isn't willing to say it to my face.
Talk to him and find out what his intentions are. If you don't like it, tell him.
Mind you, I've told my husband I don't like it and it hasn't changed anything.
Good luck!

It wasn't a sense of humor in the episode it's just that the person had a really soft voice so nobody could understand what she said.
That might be what's going on here too. I mumble a lot and usually don't talk very loud so people have a hard time understanding what I say. A lot of the time they think it's something a lot worse than what I actually said.

Whether we watch it on a television show and mimic it, or just pick it up off the street, I am not sure this is a healthy thing. Perhaps it is time to move on before this person starts making you doubt your sanity.

I agree with Wolfjan,
dont allow him to manipulate you, or play his mind games...
you may not be hearing what he says, but your subconscious hears it loud and clear...
this guy sounds creepy.. if he keeps it up then i think he is up to something..
If you heard him say he hated you, I think your hearing is fine.. and for him to say he was yawning? gimme a break...
My advice is to get as far away from this guy as possible and dont allow him to play his mind games. Im failing to find any humor in this at all. there is never anything funny in these type of games..

Thank you all for your replies!!!
I appreciate all of your advice!!!
Xander67, for you to point out mind games really struck a cord
he played another on saturday...
he told me friday he was coming to see me saturday
then saturday when i called he said he wasn't coming because he couldn't see his daughter so he was depressed
then when I said he should still come he said ok
then he didn't call back for a few hours so I called
and he said he was just waking up from a nap
and then said he was coming and when I kept calling he didn't answer
and then he called to say he just woke up
and that Sunday would be better to come see
me
so he said to call him when I got up on Sunday
and when I called he said he had chores to do around the house but could come over later and would give me a call...
so I just cancelled the plans
so he didn't get a chance to
he says he is being teased at work for they are making fun of him then they say that because they make fun of him they say he could be a sniper and shoot them for making fun of him....***************(was this that he told me how they tease him about being a sniper another shot at playing mind games with me?????)*********
*******and to keep saying you are coming by and then breaking those plans.... is that more mind games????********
******and he used to get me this special stuff I needed but now he says he can't and won't
get it anymore... so another let down.....(more possible mind games)????*******
*Hugs* for the reply posts, any thoughts to this new info?

I have to second what Xander67 said. I don't like the sound of this guy at all. _inabox_ These games don't sound funny to me. Are you laughing? If not, then he's not funny, and your opnion is what matters most here. :)

he says he has played pranks on his mother like
coming home from work early and sneaking up and scarring her
he says guys at work tease him about being gay, and not being married...
and then the guys say because they tease him he might get a gun and be a sniper and shoot them from this tower above where they work.....
he says a lot of people think he is "crazy"
he has two failed marriages.... he is quite young for this......
his exwife with the kid he had didn't answer her phone this weekend when
he called to try to get the kid... he says she is asking for money, and that's why
she didn't answer, but he says he pays child support just not extra money really
because the exwife has a new man and a new car, playstation, tv, etc.... and he is
only obligated to pay child support
but maybe he was mean to both exwives and that's why they cheated?
maybe they couldn't stand his immaturity?
the most hurtful thing he said is when I needed new breaks and he pointed it out but wouldn't pay for it I made a joke and said... "oh what about chivalry.... am I not worth new breaks" and I swear he mumbled , "hell no" and when I asked him what he said he said , "oh I just called you my daughter's name... "Hailey", I have to go pick up my daughter"
and the other related hurtful thing he said is that in his last marriage he used to give her everything she wanted... now he doesn't do that for any girl, and he looked me in the face...
and this is when I needed new breaks and it would only cost him $70 to help me ,it was a very awkward moment!!!!!
I appreciate the replies to this post...
just making me feel like he is not worth thinking about really helps
as I have developed some feelings for him
(you know how women have a stronger limbic emotional brain...
my brain already has developed feelings for him though he is a jerk
because he has done nice things for me too)
i hope to get more views on this updated information especially what you think of the hurtful things I hadn't mentioned before because I try to forget about them,
thanks in advance for any further replies!

As others have said, if you don't feel comfortable with it, then just find someone you are comfortable with.
there are many different types of senses of humor, not all are compatible. Have you ever told him that it weirds you out.
I've also noticed that different people for different regions find different things funny. Maybe that is the case here as well.

just my $.02, but this guy sounds passive/aggressive to me. Tells you one thing to your face, then turns around and does completely the opposite. Sometimes, it's just mind games, but usually it's something deeper. Like they'll say you look nice in an outfit, then turn around and mutter under their breath something like "cow". This is just an example. These people are very difficult for me personally to be around, because they send off such mixed vibes.
Sit down and tell him that this behavior is not acceptable to you, and if he continues to do it, then it's up to you to decide if you want to put up with it or not. To me, what they say to your face is what they think you want to hear, and what they say under their breath is how they actually feel.

how old is he again?
Getting the brakes fixed is important, that is a safety item... if I had the extra money Id send it to you myself... the added info is not helping his case with me at all,
leaving work early .... going home scarring his mother? hmm, what would he have done if she would have shot him thinking he was a burglar... that happens in some places... it is legal to shoot an intruder in some states.
I think you deserve alot better than him..

to answer Xander67's question.....
He is 29 almost 30
:)
I remember Xander67 writing a post how this was to be the summer good
for the Taurus sign... I am a Taurus... and your post on this gave me great hope that it would be a good summer....
there is a few more days left in summer... maybe things will improve for me still?
I'm open to more advice about this guy
because I have a huge limbic system that gets
really emotional about guys I'm seeing!!
So each piece of advice is like rubbing off the dirt
of my limbic system emotional brain to see the clear
picture of what's behind the window (reality) which is
hard for me to see sometimes
