So what do you think ladies, does menstruation effect you spiritually, as well as physically?
Do you feel more in tune with the Goddess at this time, or farther away from her?
More in tune with natural cycles, or too "Blech" to even ponder such things?
Does menstruation make your magick more powerful? Or do you prefer to forgo any magick during your menstrual time?

it has absolutely no effect on my magick, spirituality, or even how I feel for that matter. I never get cramps or become irritable (well more than usual :D ) or anything.

It effects me big time, though it didn't used to. I get extremely moody and I personally loathe the days leading up to that time. At least I have my cramps under control.
I tend to forgo magick during, and just before, only because I have so much negative energy, nothing would work right. For me, it's not a spiritual experience, it's just an annoyingly unpleasant one.

Yeah I wouldn't be one for a spiritual experience that time of the month. As much fun as it would be to contemplate things while changing a tampon. Or trying to see how many Advil I can take so my cramps stop but I won't die from overdose.

It affects me a lot. First of all...I have the usual cramping, bloating...and extreme moodiness. that's during the first few days prior to my cycle...then once i'm half way through, I have an enormous amount of energy. I feel completely in tune with the goddess, and my angels...and myself. Its amazing. I want to accomplish so much at this time, but I don't know where to start.
Aroudn the end, i calm down a bit, but i'm still on an energy high. :D

Well i wish i could say it was a spiritual time for me
however i find it hard to feel spiritual when i am nauseus and vomitting, doubled over with abdominal pain, feel whoozy and want to pass out when i stand up and am an absolute raving bitch about insignificant things? When i do manage to stand up i get this flood of blood that nothing will contain - so it runs down yr legs and pools in yr shoes!
Medical science says thats me live with it
Herbal lightens some of the symptoms some of the time
but i still manage 2-3 awful periods a yr
I would love to feel closer to the goddess and feel that this confirmed my femininity and fertility as the site that Danustouch mentioned but nothing could be further from the truth!
Sorry for the rant and thanks for listening
blessed be

For myself, I too have difficult menstruations. However...sometimes, I wind up feeling more of a surge of energy around the time of my period..sometimes I don't. I've worked magick while menstruating, and it seems to be very effective. I think sometimes my attitude toward the menstruation, effects how I feel during it.
