I've thought about it but I don't know whether I have the time to have it.

Why would it require time? Or all that much time...

I don't really have the expertise to create a web page to my standards so I'll have to learn how to do that properly.

It's a great idea but I wouldn't have a clue how to put one together. I mean computer/programming/whatever -wise, not what I'd put on it. I know about altars but not how to set up a virtual one. I'm intrigued by the idea though because here in Fundie Sheol I don't have a real-life altar.

Oooh good idea...
Sounds like a new project.
Anybody know of a pre-exsisting software or template?
Monster.

Well duh.
But I'm ultra-lazy.
I want someone else to do the work for me.

I MIGHT right a swf that could do it... but it would be a little tricky, and I have to summon the effort.

Hummm.... If you could do an interactive template that sound kinda cool. It could solve the problem of allot of people who for whatever reason can't have one.
You could have choices of different components so you could build your own!

Well Peacock, you brought it up, so let's see some effort summoned :hahugh:
But really, if something like was already set up that I could just use (b/c I am computer illiterate), that would be great, I'd be all over that bad boy.

I wouldn't think it as effective, unless you can wholeheartedly revere a screen...

Virtual Altar...
Just the one in head for 20+ years.

Those two linked are gorgeous! However, if one prefers a solid altar, take alook at the one I just made at www.tsemoana.net/altar.html.
If that's something you'd like, I can make a template available (with instructions on how to use it) or, if you send me the graphics and where you want them (the altar is a 4 row table with 5 cells per row) I can do it for you.

one of the sites I'm a member of has a virtual alter you can set up. it's very easy, and i really like they way mine looks, although, it is really structured.
the site is:
http://magickalforest.com/
I'm pretty sure you have to be a member to use it, but they membership is free, and you don't meet any criteria(such as logging on every month or anything)

There are many virtual altars listed in the newly created Helpful Sites For Mythology and Deity Info (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=138515) in the God and Goddess forum.
Tons of Kemetic. Tons of Hindu. A few Greek.
I'm still looking for more, if anyone has any links to one PM me (don't post in the thread).

Why can't they post the links in the thread? (control freak)

They can, but I was saying not to post them in the link I posted. To PM me instead of posting them there.
If you'd read the intro to both Helpful Sites For Mythology and Deity Info (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=138515) and The Gods and Goddesses Resource and Link thread (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=113087) you'd know why.
 And no, not a control freak.
I took time out of my life to make those threads, no one asked me to...no one is paying me for my time. It took lots of time to make the Resource and Link thread, and it takes time to manage them. I don't need to cluttered up with posts because I don't have any editing abilities that Admins do-- which is all explained in those threads intros.
Why can't they post the links in the thread? (control freak)
And why can't you just go to the Helpful Sites For Mythology and Deity Info (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=138515) to see them?

Not my problem.
They're there, whether you use them or not doesn't matter to me.
